Usage Model:<br />

• Native on Intel® Xeon® processor, COI-based offload on Intel®<br />

Xeon Phi coprocessor. Intel® TBB, ISPC and Intrinsics<br />

Highlights:<br />

• Typical ray tracing rendering pipeline code used throughout DCC<br />

to show comparative performance on different types of hardware<br />

with a variety of input 3D data models. Optimized for all Intel ISAs<br />

and delivered to the community and available for download.<br />

• End-User benefits: Ability to achieve competitive performance and<br />

the flexibility of IA for rendering and render farm applications<br />

Results:<br />

• Embree on Intel® Xeon Phi 7120A coprocessor performs up to<br />

2.15X faster than Nvidia<br />

– Path tracing causes low SIMD utilization (better for Xeon)<br />

– Xeon® E5-2699 v3 is latest silicon while Xeon Phi 7120A now<br />

2.5 years old<br />
