La Classe 8 metri
Stazza Internazionale
La Classe 8 metri Stazza Internazionale,
caratterizzata da una formula basata
essenzialmente su lunghezza massima e
superficie velica, fu approvata nel 1907
dall’IYRU (oggi ISAF) e successivamente
rivista e modificata. È stata presente
a sette Olimpiadi della vela dal 1908 al
1936. Oggi con il crescente interesse
per le imbarcazioni d’epoca la Classe è
nuovamente in auge ed è molto attiva
un’associazione internazionale che ne
incentiva l’attività agonistica.

The International 8-Meter class,
characterized by a formula based
essentially on maximum length and sail
surface. was approved in 1907 by the
IYRU (today the ISAF) and subsequently
revised and modified.
It was present at seven Sailing Olympics
from 1908 to 1936.
Today, with the growing interest in
period boats, the Class is again in vogue
and today there is an international
association which actively promotes
