A set-back is an event where the optimizer moves in the wrong direction. This is impossible in theory but may happen due to numerical problems. Possible Values: Any number between 0 and +inf. Default value: 0 9.2.158 MSK IPAR SIM PRIMAL RESTRICT SELECTION Corresponding constant: MSK IPAR SIM PRIMAL RESTRICT SELECTION Description: <strong>The</strong> primal simplex optimizer can use a so-called restricted selection/pricing strategy to chooses the outgoing variable. Hence, if restricted selection is applied, then the primal simplex optimizer first choose a subset of all the potential incoming variables. Next, for some time it will choose the incoming variable only among the subset. From time to time the subset is redefined. A larger value of this parameter implies that the optimizer will be more aggressive in its restriction strategy, i.e. a value of 0 implies that the restriction strategy is not applied at all. Possible Values: Any number between 0 and 100. Default value: 50 9.2.159 MSK IPAR SIM PRIMAL SELECTION Corresponding constant: MSK IPAR SIM PRIMAL SELECTION Description: Controls the choice of the incoming variable, known as the selection strategy, in the primal simplex optimizer.
