The Institution of Engineers, MPSC under the aegis of Chemical Engineering Board in
association with M.P. Council of Science & Technology organize All India Seminar on
“Recent Trends of Nanotechnology in Environmental and Biological Applications”
(RTNEBA - 2014) on dated November 22-23, 2014.
In inaugural session Dr. Appukuttan K.K., Director, National Institute of Technology was the
Chief Guest. Shri Yogendra Pathak, Former General, BHEL, Bhopal presided over and Shri
Tasneem Habib, Sr. Principle Scientist & Group Head, M.P. Science & Technology, Govt of
MP was Gust of Honour.
Initially Prof. K.K.S. Gautam, Chairman, MPSC, welcomed the Guests. He explained the
technical activities of MPSC in detail in the recent past. He also expressed the need of active
participation of members to come forward for the overall development of the centre. He also
expressed that the Institution of Engineers is the only professional Body which is going to
celebrate its glorious sanctum in the year 2019.
Chief Guest Dr. Appukuttan has blessed the occasion and in his speech expressed the
importance of Nanotechnology in the field of Medicine and Agriculture in detail. Further he
expressed the need of more research & development in the field of Nanotechnology. In the
field of Nanotechnology research the latest equipments like AFM, SEM, TEM & XRD etc plays
important role to identify the nano materials.
Shri Yogendra Pathak, Former General Manager, BHEL, Bhopal expressed his views that
Nanotechnology is required in the field of medicine and homeopathy also. Apart from the field
of Technology in the field of Environmental and Biological Applications nano material is also
being used in construction work.
Shri Tasneem Habib, Sr. Principle Scientist & Group Head, M.P. Science & Technology, Govt.
of MP described the importance of Nanotechnology in the field of Satellite and Space
Technology Research and its application in details.
Ttwo days Seminar covered five technical sessions in which 7 expert including eminent
Principle scientists Dr. I.B. Singh from Advance Material Processes Research Institute
(CSIR), delivered his expert lecture on “ Nano Gamma Alumina particle. Prof. Dr. Zahis Raza,
Professor, Jawahar Lal Nehru University, New Delhi delivered his exciting lecture on

Nanotechnology and Computing. Prof. Dr. Aashish Shrivastava, from Indian Institute of
Science Education & Research (IISER), has given expert on “Load bearing and self –
healinghydrogels from catecgol rich polymers”. Eminent Professor from Barkatullah
University, Dr. Amalate Madam has emphasized on “Paptode” An indispensable Tool- a
chemical approach towards Green Technology. Eminent Scientist Dr. Manoj Tripathi, from
Indian Council of Agriculture Research described in detail the potential of Nanotechnology in
Food processing sector. Dr. Manish Mudgal, Eminent Principle Scientist, Council of Scientific
Industrial Research (AMPRI), presented views on “Effect of Rise Husk Nanosilica on Fly-Ash
based Geopolymeric Mortar”
During Two days seminar 32 papers were read by the Research Scholars,M.Tech & B.Tech
students in the field of Biological and Chemical Science, Environmental Science, Hazards &
Safety, Green Chemistry, Material Science related to Nanotechnology from various places
including Delhi, Agra, Jhansi, Jabalpur, IISER, CAIE Research organizations etc.
In the valedictory function Chief Scientist, Advance Material Processes and Research Institute
(CSIR) has deliberated his views in Nanotechnology in the field of Research & Development
in Material process. He also blessed all the experts & participants for delivering their expert
lectures and papers. He distributed prizes to the author of best paper and certificatesto all the
participants.
Dr. Rahul Shrivastava, Organising Secretary delivered Vote of Thanks.
Recommendations:
Nanotechnology is playing a vital role in developing innovative and advanced technologies
around the glove. The need of today,s age is to bring this technology to a common man that
requires continuous training.
All India seminar on “Recent Trends of Nanotechnology in Environmental and Biological
Applications” (RTNEBA - 2014 emphasized the need of current scenario from bottom to top.
Many interesting topics were covered especially in health and environment sector. We
realized that many research students (P.G, Ph.D) & graduate students (B.Tech) are
participating with huge enthusiasm and interest. We feel such programs should be conducted
almost regularly with some more interesting topics like the present one .We request IE to
emphasize the importance of environment and biological process observed by
Nanotechnology should be put up to the Govt. with immediate need of the country .We
therefore feel that such topic will be helpful in bringing up new technologies with fundamental
understanding.

Dr. Appu Kuttan, Director, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal was the
Chief Guest. Prominent expert Dr. Vidhya Chakrpani, Professor, Chemical & Biological
Department, Polytechnic Institute, New york, USA was invited to deliver her expert Key Note
Address on the subject matter. Function was presided over by Dr. Amrit Phale, Chief
Scientist, AMPRI, CSIR, Bhopal.
Prof. K.K.S. Gautam, Chairman, MPSC welcomed the guests and highlighted the activities of
MPSC in the recent past and incoming programmes. He thanked the dignitaries accepting our
proposal in very short notice especially Dr. Vidhya Chakrapani, Professor, Chemical &
Biological Department, Polytechnic Institute, New york, USA for accepting our proposal in very
short notice.
Dr. Amrit Phale, Chief Scientist, AMPRI, in his address highlighted the commendable
innovation of manufacturing of Cement free Fly ash based Green Cement in the field of
construction. This new product is largely appreciated by the world community after getting
world level patent. Dr. Phale said that while producing 1 Ton Cement, 1 Ton Carbon Dioxide
is released, whereas with this new product by regulating Carbon foot print, we are protecting
environmental pollution. He also emphasized that, if support from the Government and
Institutions are extended towards the new product, we can play major role for creating
pollution free atmosphere.
Dr. Vidhya Chakrpani, in her expert lecture said that, the use of Diamond in the field of Semi
conductor is throwing new dimensions. While use of Semi conductor is being developed as
the alternate of Carbon electrodes, which will prove mile stone in the field of Power generation
and Nano Technology. There are tremendous opportunities in the field of development of Non
conventional energy by adopting specific technology of Diamond.
Lectures on “Development of Radiation Shielding“ was delivered by Dr. Manish Mudgal,
Princile Scientist. The radiation shielding material is developed by by Fly ash using chemicals.
This shielding material is as good as concrete. Dr. Mudgal got tested the shielding material
from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and got patented also.

Dr. Sasi Kumar discussed in detail on the Macheno-chemical synthesis of materials and its
use in present scenario.
Chief Guest of the function Dr. Appu Kuttan, in his address assured that institution shall surely
help and support for encouragement of such innovations.
Large number of members of MPSC, students and faculty members of different Engineering
colleges, Research Organisations APRI, Biotechnologists and Chemicl Engineers were
present in this occasion.

After Flag hoisting ceremony, in a glorious function, Brave Engineering student of a Local
Engineering college Ms. Charan preet Kaur was honoured with Shawl, Shreephal and
memento for her bravery shown by averting attempt of robbery at her home during mid night.
She challenged the three robbers who entered her home by breaking the door. As she noticed
the presence of robbers, she came out with sword from her room shouting other members of
her family about the presence of dacoits. Seeing her utter courage, robbers fled away jumping
boundary wall and thus she saved her house from the robbers. Her act of courage was largely
appreciated by the Local Administration, Police & Media and honoured her.
Being an Engineering Student, committee decided to honour her with her parents on this
auspicious day.

organized on 21-22 March 2015 jointly with Abilities Education Foundation, (aef) with grand
success.
On 21.03.2015 in inaugural function Er. B.V. Raghvaiah, Addl. Director & Unit Head, CPRI
was the Chief Guest and Er. L. Gopalkrishnan, General Manager, BHEL presided over the
function.
Prof. K.K.S. Gautam, Chairman, MPSC, welcomed the distinguished guests and described
the major activities of the state centre and also explained the importance of today’s
programme. Organising Secretary Er. S.R. Awasthi while elaborating on the subject matter
said that if the vibration in any Rotating Machine is not under control, it may cause major
damages. Shri Nikhil Kaushik, MD of organizing partner Abilities Education Foundation, (aef)
briefed regarding all the ten speakers and their topics of two days workshop.
Er. L. Gopalkrishnan, General Manager, BHEL expressed in his presidential address that
foundation plays important roll in rotating machines. For long life and smooth running of all
rotating machines needs to be monitored checked & controlled at regular intervals.
Chief Guest Er. B.V. Raghvaiah, Addl. Director & Unit Head, Central Power Research
Institute, has appreciated the topic of the workshop as this workshop is use full for not only
electrical engineers but is equally useful for mechanical and civil engineers.
He expressed that all the delegates will get benefited from the expert lecture by the rich
experienced personalities during technical session.
After formal inaugural function technical sessions of work shop started. In first day five expert
lectures were delivered in details with case study by the experienced person on the various
topics. Er. R.P. Nigam, Former AGM, BHEL, Bhopal explained in details on vibration
measurement, analysis & dynamic balancing of Rotating machines in site conditions with five
case study. Er. L.P. Sharma, Former AGM, BHEL, Bhopal given expert talk on Vibration
analysis as a diagnostic tool and case studies related to them. How vibrations can be
diagnosed in large Rotating machines and how they can be reduced at site? He gave
examples from Hydro Power Stations. Er. S.R. Awasthi, Former General Manager, BHEL,
Bhopal delivered talk on approach to improve performance of TG unit in Hydroelectric Power
Plant. Vibrations are big problem in Hydro Generators and their regular monitoring is

important. Er. R.P. Pathak from NHPC, New Delhi deliberated in his speech in details on
“Vibration balancing in Thermal Power Plants”. Er. D.K. Soni, Former G.M., BHEL, Bhopal
elaborated on the topic “Condition Monitoring of Electrical Rotating Machines.”
In second day on 22rd march .Er. Nikhil Kaushik explained in details on Controlling vibration
in large water pumping systems. How starting with variable speed drive can reduce vibration
problem and increase the life of pumping systems. Dr. Vishal Parashar, Prof. from MANIT
discussed on Experimental Design for performance evaluation. Prof. P.K. Jain said in his
lecture that foundation of heavy machine is playing important role to reduce the vibration. He
explained in details on Machine structure aspects of heavy machine foundation. Er. Sunil
Joshi has expressed his views on practical aspects and case study of heavy rotating
machines foundation. Dr. Bharat Modhera, Prof. MANIT on his expert talk discussed about
vibration reduction on “Function of Rotary Kiln in Cement Industry” Lastly feed back from the
delegates were invited. Overall opinion from the delegates comes out that the workshop was
informative and useful for their future as the all topics covered by the experienced engineers
and explained with case study.
VELADICTORY FUNCTION
The valedictory function for the two days Workshop on “Vibration Fault diagnosis & its
Mitigation in Large Rotating Machines” concluded on 22.03.2015. This was conducted by
Institution of Engineers, State centre, Bhopal in association with M/s. Ablities Educare
Foundation, Bhopal. The program was attended by 46 delegates basically engineers, Post
Graduate students and UG students from different engineering institutions. 8 engineers from
CPRI, Cipet and AMPRI (CSIR) also attended. A total of ten experts from various industries
like BHEL, NHDC Delhi and institutions delivered talks and shared their rich experiences. The
topics covered ranged from Vibration measurement, analysis, dynamic balancing of
machines, diagnostic tools used, and vibration in pumping systems, structural foundation
requirement for heavy machines. They highlighted the importance and how important it is to
reduce these vibrations for smooth operation of utilities and industries. Dr. V.K. Gahlot,
Professor MANIT was the chief guest. The program was presided over by Dr.Navin Chand
Director AMPRI, Bhopal and guest of honor was Dr.. Mukesh Kanungo Group Director,
Satyam and Surabhi group of Institutions. Certificates were issued to all the delegates by
Chief Guest.
Highlights of Two Days Workshop:
a. Program attended by total 46 delegates from different institutions and
industries.
b. Wide variety of topics covered ranging from heavy machines vibration to
designing of foundations.

The seminar on PR-The Corporate Perception was organised by PRSI in association with
Institution of Engineers and Emaar Media Consultancy on 29 th March 2015.
The seminar was organised to mark the importance of Public relation in the corporate world.
On this occasion key note speakers delivered their views on PR of Yesterday , Today and
Tommorow. Following Keynote Speakers delivered their views:
1. Shri Brijendra Kumar Sr DCM WCR: He delivered his views on What was importance
of PR in yesteryear.
2. Shri Sanjay Sarabhoy GM HR NHDC: He expressed his views on Present importance
of PR.
3. Shri Pushpendra Pal Singh HOD Journalism Makhanlal Chaturvedi University: He
delivered his views on Future of Public Relations.
Earlier the seminar was inaugurated by Shri Rameshwar Sharma MLA alongwith Shri Sanjay
Seetha, Chairman PRSI, Prof KKS Gautam Chairman Institution of Engineers. And all keynote
speakers.
Shri Rameshwar Sharma in his speech appreciated the efforts taken in organising seminar on
the very important issue. He said Public Relation play a vital role in development of any
organization or any individual. He appreciated the efforts taken by Mansi Ojha CEO Emaar
Media Consultancy along with M.P. State Centre of IEI for her dynamic approach in this
sector,

Two Days Workshop on “Vibration Fault Diagnosis & its Mitigation in large Rotating Machines”
under MCDB organized on 16-17 April 2015 in association with Abilities Education
Foundation, (aef) with grand success.
On 16.04.2015 in inaugural function Er. Vishwas Sarang, MLA from Bhopal was the Chief
Guest and Er. S. Balakrishnan, General Manager, BHEL presided over the function. Guest of
Honour was Shri Lakshman Das, Chief Engineer, M.P. Power Generating Company, O&M
Division, Jabalpur.
Prof. K.K.S. Gautam, Chairman, MPSC, welcomed the distinguished guests and described
the major activities of the state centre and also explained the importance of today’s
programme.
Shri Nikhil Kaushik, MD of organizing partner Abilities Education Foundation (AEF) briefed
about the objectives of the foundation. How important it is to transfer skills from experience to
in experienced, from have to have not’s in the entire spectrum of industry and academics.
After all the growth can only come when there is transfer and assimilation and transfer of skill
at different levels.
Shri Lakshman Das, Chief Engineer mentioned that it has become important to improve the
efficiency of the utility in order to reduce the cost burden of the consumers. For this the
improvement of skill is very important for the corporate.
Shri S. Balakrishnan, General Manager, BHEL in his presiding over address suggested that
how vibration specifications are getting stringent for improving the performance of the
machines. This not only adds to quality but also increases the life of the machines.
Chief Guest Shri Vishwas Sarang, MLA from Bhopal had requested the Institution to expand
its area of operation so that from all walk of life are benefitted. Further he stressed that
basically engineers are creators and hence they should broaden their scope and should use
talent pool for the development of the social values as well.

Shri Sunil Joshi, Executive Member, expressed the vote of thanks to all associated in making
the programme a success.

students and UG students from different engineering institutions, engineers from CPRI, and
AMPRI (CSIR). Experts from various industries like BHEL, NHDC and other institutions
delivered talks and shared their rich experiences. The topics covered ranged from Vibration
measurement, analysis, dynamic balancing of machines, diagnostic tools used, and vibration
in pumping systems, structural foundation requirement for heavy machines. They highlighted

Facilitation Work shop was organized on 27 th April, 2015 at MPSC, Bhopal. In inaugural
function of the Workshop, Dr. V.K. Sethi, Vice Chancellor, RKDF University, Bhopal, was
Chief Guest and Dr. A. K. Jha, Chief Scientist, CSIR-AMPRI, Bhopal presided over the
programme.
Prof. K.K.S. Gautam, Chairman, MPSC welcomed the guests and elaborated the scope of this
work shop for the benefit of Engineering students. He informed that total 29 Groups from
Various Institutions/Universities including MANIT, RKDF University, Surabhi & Satyam Group
of Institutions, Devi Ahilya University, Indore, Patel Engg. College,Bhopal, Rustamji Institute of
Technology, BSF Academy, Tekanpur, Gwalior, Mansarover Institute of Science &
Technology, Bhopal, AISECT University, Bhopal, Vidhyapeeth Institute of Science &
Technology, Bhopal, Shriram College, Jabalpur, Scopes Institute of Technology, Bhopal,
LNCT, Bhopal and Sagar Institute of Research and Technology, Bhopal etc have sent their
consent to attend the workshop along with their projects.
Mr. Tanmay Chakraborty, briefed the object of the workshop and the Institution’s activities in
the field of Research & Development. He explained the role of Institution for funding, project
facilitation and collaboration. He informed that for R&D development fund allocated on this
head during 2001 was about 2.36 lakhs which has been raised to 1.00 crore in the year 2015-
16. He informed that 4 programmes are being organized during the each financial year and
this is the 1 st . one in the financial year 2015-16. R&D motto is to promote the UG students, as
funds are not sufficiently available for the UG students from other sources. In future
Polytechnic students will also be benefitted for which modalities are being finalized soon.
Dr. A.K. Jha, Chief Scientist, CSIR-AMPRI, in his presiding speech praised the MPSC’s
efforts to organize different technical activities for the benefit of engineering community.
Regarding Project work he said that the private colleges do not have much sophisticated
equipment related to R&D work for which he assured all possible help from CSIR-AMPRI as
and when required.
Chief Guest of the function Dr. V.K. Sethi, appreciated the efforts being taken by the
Institution of Engineers (India) to boost up on this field. He encouraged the Faculties and
students of various engineering colleges to come forward for innovative projects. In his
address he elaborated in details the funding agencies who sponsors the funds for R&D
projects in India and abroad.

Er R.C. Shrivastav, Hon. Secretary proposed vote of Thanks. Many Senior members of the
Institution, Professors and students were participated in inaugural function of the workshop.
After formal inauguration of function the technical sessions started before the lunch and
continued after lunch by Mr. Tanmay Chakraborty, Representative of Director-Technical, coodinator
of the programme.
Shri Tanmay Chakraborty, Initially gave power point presentation of the project format
stepwise and cleared all the doubts of the faculties and students. Total 29 groups from 13
engineering colleges participated in this workshop. Mr.Tanmay Chakaborty seen the project of
the groups separately in their Lap-Top, he suggested to each group for necessary
modification and correction as per guidelines. He instructed all the project guides and
students to send projects on soft copy by 30.4.2015 and hard copy immediately so that H.Q.
can receive within a week.

Inauguration of Guest house
Dr. L.V. Muralikrishna Reddy, The Honorable President of IEI, welcomed in the CITY OF
LAKES, BHOPAL by the Chairman and Honorary Secretary, MPSC, Bhopal.
On his arrival at IEI, MPSC, Bhopal Honorable President inaugurated the Newly Constructed
Guest House by lighting of lamp and cutting of ribbon. He has shown his full satisfaction over
the availability of Additional Two Guest rooms at MPSC. He also assured to help us for
furnishing these rooms.
After inauguration of guest house, Website of MPSC “mpsciei.org” was also dedicated by the
President.
In the beginning of Felicitation programme, Prof. K.K.S. Gautam, Chairman, MPSC welcomed
the guests and described the activities of the centre and today’s programme.
Honorable President Dr. Reddy felicitated with Shawl and Shreephal by Chairman, MPSC and
shown gratitude for accepting our Invitation to visit Bhopal within short notice.
Book titled “ Green Power for Energy Security” written by Dr. V.K. Sethi, Vice Chancellor,
RKDF University, was unveiled by chief guest president Dr. Reddy. Thereafter an expert talk
delivered by Energy Expert Dr. V.K. Sethi on the theme Green Power for Energy Security.
Dr. S. Das, Director, CSIR-AMPRI in his presiding speech said that MPSC’s role in the
various technical activities is appreciable and if needed CSIR-AMPRI is available to extend all
possible help and support to MPSC for the activities development.
Chief Guest Dr. Reddy in his speech elaborated the important activities of IEI. He called on
the Engineering students to avail the financial grants being made available to the eligible
students for their innovative projects. He also call upon the Engineering Institutes to avail
Institutional Membership of IEI, so that the help and support extended by the IEI can be made
available to them. He also insisted for corporate member and students chapter drive from the
various technical universities and institutions.

Inaugural Session
All India Workshop on “Rapid Prototyping & 3D Modelling.” was organized in association with
Ebilities Educare Foundation at MPSC, Bhopal on 3 rd July 2015 at 9.30 AM.
On this occasion Er. D.K. Dixit, General Manager, BHEL, was Chief Guest, Er. P.P. Agarwal,
Council Member and IAS (Rtd) presided the function and Dr. Mukesh Arora, AGM, BHEL was
Guest of Honour.
Prof. K.K.S. Gautam, Chairman, MPSC welcomed the distinguished Guest and elaborated the
major activities of IEI, MPSC and today’s programme.
Er. Nikhil Kaushik, Head of Ebilities Educate Foundation explained about the activities of
foundation and importance of this workshop.
Dr. Mukesh Arora, Guest of Honour in his address said that we could not get entire knowledge
with 2 G technology while with 3 rd dimension technology we can clear picture of the object.
Shri D.K. Dixit, GM BHEL appreciated we activity has institute of engineer for the technical activity
organized time to time for the update knowledge to the engineers further he said that 3D
technology is the latest technology by which in less time quality products can be manufacture by
the industries. This program more useful in the field of R&D, architectures researchers, builders,
Orthopedic surgeons, Dentist and engineers. Shri R.C. Shrivatava has proposed the vote thanks.
In this workshop program 40 participants attended from the BHEL. School of planning, PWD,
Laghu Udyog Nigam, MANIT and various private colleges.
In this technical session Shri Vijay Raghav Varad expert has explained in his expert talk that 3D
printing or additive manufacturing is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a
digital file. The creation of a 3D printed object is achieved using additive processes. In an additive
process an object is created by laying down successive layers of material until the entire object is
created. Each of these layers can be seen as a thinly sliced horizontal cross-section of the
eventual object.
This is the latest technology that is being used for the development of 3 D scaled down models
and components, subcomponents, intricate assemblies.
The complete object is first developed in Auto cad or other 3D soft wares and then the same
object so developed can be printed in scaled down version in 3D printers using specific fillers
materials. This gives a great advantage i.e. small components can be made easily, since the 3D
model is available any errors and acts of omission can be easily corrected at the drawing stage
and even scaled down performance can be observed.

Further like architects & builders can have a full 3D model made easily for their customers for
display and exhibition. Orthopedic surgeons, Dentist make great use of this technology for healing
serious patients. Using Metals complete components can be made in final finished stage.
Shri Raghav Kumar, director Fraktal Works Pvt. Ltd. explained that though there are various types
of 3D Printing machines available, here are the famous 3 technology.
1. Selective laser sintering (SLS)
2. Fused deposition modeling (FDM)
3. Stereo lithography (SLA
4. Others
This technology uses a high power laser to fuse small particles of plastic, metal, ceramic or glass
powders into a mass that has the desired three dimensional shape. The laser selectively fuses the
powdered material by scanning the cross-sections (or layers) generated by the 3D modeling
program on the surface of a powder bed. After each cross-section is scanned, the powder bed is
lowered by one layer thickness. Then a new layer of material is applied on top and the process is
repeated until the object is completed.
There are after process required to strengthen the object. This is very expensive technology and
used to make high end objects.
Shri Jayant Prajapati Director Avalanche Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Indore has expressed his views
that the FDM technology works using a plastic filament or metal wire which is unwound from a coil
and supplies material to an extrusion nozzle which can turn the flow on and off. The nozzle is
heated to melt the material and can be moved in both horizontal and vertical directions by a
numerically controlled mechanism, directly controlled by a computer-aided manufacturing (CAM)
software package. The object is produced by extruding melted material to form layers as the
material hardens immediately after extrusion from the nozzle.
Most easy to use technology, easy availability & very economical. Strong object can directly be
derived from the machine. The only flip side is this technology is time consuming.
Sri Charuvind Atre, Director- Avalanche technologies Pvt. Ltd. Indore Explained about the main
technology in which photo polymerization is used to produce a solid part from a liquid is SLA. This
technology employs a vat of liquid ultraviolet curable photopolymer resin and an ultraviolet laser to
build the object’s layers one at a time. For each layer, the laser beam traces a cross-section of the
part pattern on the surface of the liquid resin. Exposure to the ultraviolet laser light cures and
solidifies the pattern traced on the resin and joins it to the layer below.
This is the most promising technology. Less time consuming, more realistic object & better finish.
The process is tedious, resins are harmful & so are laser rays.
There are few other types of 3D Printer and they print some very interesting things like: food
(chocolate), ceramic, metal are few of them. Though their availability is very less in India.
In this workshop 3 machines were brought for demonstration to the participants. Practically three
jobs were prepared by these machines and demonstrated practically to the all participants.
In valedictory function, Chief guest Dr. Navin Chand former Acting Director AMPRI (CSIR)
Distributed certificate to all the participants. Shri Suni Joshi Proposed the vote of thanks to all the
participants.

Honoring Shri R.N. Prasad
The 68 th Independence Day was celebrated at M.P. State Centre premises with great fervor.
National Flag hoisted by Shri R.N. Prasad, Father of Martyr Major Ajay Prasad, Bhopal, (who
scarified his life during Kargil War). in presence of large number of dignitaries from all section
of society including members of IEI and their family.
After the Flag hoisting ceremony, a small function was also organized in which Shri R.N.
Prasad was the Chief Guest, Er. B.V. Raghvaiah, Addl. Director and Unit Head, CPRI
presided over and Er. Vijay Joshi was Guest of Honour. In this occasion Er. P. Kognolkar,
Former DG, CPRI, Scientists from AMPRI (CSIR), BHEL Engineers, Lions club members and
many more IEI members were present.
Chief Guest Shri R.N. Prasad elaborated the importance of independence with reference to
prevailing status of society and larger interest of the national growth in view of narrowing gap
between religions, cast & creed.

With immense pleasure and joy Inauguration of Third Local Centre of M.P has been
inaugurated at Gwalior by our President of The Institution of Engineers (India), Dr. L.V.
Muralikrishna Reddy, FIE on 14 th September 2015 in presence of Vice President, SDG, Mayer
Gwalior Municipal Corporation, Council member, Corporate members. Due to kind
consideration of Honorable President, wishes of large numbers of engineers, Engineering/
Technical Institutions of Gwalior region fulfilled by opening of Gwalior Local Centre. Engineer
community of Gwalior region will remain thankful. This will enable them to increase technical
activity in the region.
In this occasion Mr. B. B. Reddy, Secretary & Director General, IEI, read the warrant of
establishment of Gwalior Local Centre. Chairman M.P. State Centre Prof. K.K.S. Gautam
welcomed President, Vice President Mr. S.B. Sinha, SDG, all the Council members and
Corporate members and other dignitaries present. With great pleasure he informed after long
waiting for the opening of Gwalior Local Centre could be formed. He assured that the centre
will progress fast by conducting technical activities, growth of Corporate membership,
Institutional members, student Chapters, and technician chapters with the help of dynamic
Chairman and Honorary Secretary nominated by M.P. State Centre Committee.
Council Member Shri P.P. Agarwal expressed his regard for the fast response taken by the
HQ for the clearance and establishment of Gwalior Local Centre.

development and importance of malty skilling for the different job opportunity.
In this occasion an essay competition for students of Polytechnic students of M.P. was also
organized on the topic “Engineers Role in Make in India” was also organized. In which a large

Er. P.P. Agarwal, Council member, IEI in his address appreciated the efforts of leading agencies
like BDA and Nagar Nigam, Bhopal towards the developments of low cost housing projects for all.
He stressed the need of multistoried housing projects to save the precious lands.
Mrs. Sunita Singh elaborated the various projects undertaken by the Nagar Nigam, Bhopal in the
field of Housing, water supply, etc. She also explained in detail about smart city. Further she
elaborated the process of on line application for grant of building permission by Nagar Nigam.
Er. Rakesh Khandelwal highlighted the Mobile expert mechanism facility of Mycem cement to
assist in the field of construction technology. He said that Mycem is providing free of cost test
facility through well equipped mobile Van to the Contractors and Builders for the testing of civil
materials further mycem engineers give expert opinion on the better management of construction
work.
Er. Manohar Lal, in his Presiding speech said that public spaces should be easily available to all
and flexibility to avail the facility should be made to the common people. Public spaces should be
developed according to the need of the public with the help of common people.
Chief Guest Shri Neeraj Vashishtha in his address said that public spaces like parks, roads, public
toilets etc should be developed with the help of expert professionals with a view to maintain the
same in long term proper use. Govt. agencies should take positive approach for public space in
proper places as per public need.

detail. He said that in the earlier days medium of communication was through the Pigeons .Dr.
Mahesh Shukla shared some interesting facts on the issue. He said that in near future, there
will be tremendous changes in the field of Telecommunications, for which work has already
started.
