The purpose of the Black <strong>Student</strong> Unification is to develop,<br />
maintain, and sustain a sense of unity among the Black<br />
<strong>Student</strong>s of <strong>Middle</strong> <strong>Georgia</strong> <strong>State</strong> University. Furthermore, it is<br />
the aim of the Black <strong>Student</strong> Unification to keep its members<br />
aware of civic, social, and academic issues as they affect its<br />
members. It shall also create and maintain an interest in and<br />
an appreciation of black heritage. All activities of the Black<br />

Chamber Singers<br />
The MGA Chamber Singers comprises students, faculty and<br />
staff and performs on and off campus each semester. In past<br />
years, they have sung with the Macon Symphony Orchestra,<br />
the Albany Symphony Orchestra, in England and France. The<br />
chorus rehearses on Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30-1:45 in<br />
the Arts Complex Rehearsal Hall. You do not have to take the<br />
course for credit in order to be a member, but you must<br />
diligently attend rehearsals.<br />

Southeast Model African Union<br />
SEMAU (University System of <strong>Georgia</strong>’s South East Model<br />
African Union) is an annual simulation program sanctioned by<br />
the University System of <strong>Georgia</strong> in which USG colleges and<br />
universities participate. The annual conference’s finale is the<br />
Annual National Model AU Conference held in Washington,<br />
D.C. in February of each year. <strong>Student</strong>s who participate in the<br />
program benefit by learning about Robert’s Rules of<br />
Procedures & Debate, coalition building, conflict resolution<br />
and diplomatic conduct. <strong>Student</strong>s engage in debates on<br />
political, social and economic problems that are facing Africa<br />
and the world. This program is an interdisciplinary simulation<br />
program which enhances students’ self-confidence and public<br />
speaking skills.<br />
