Jady Hassim obta<strong>in</strong>ed his bachelors <strong>in</strong> Law-LL.B<br />
(Hons) <strong>and</strong> later Masters <strong>in</strong> Comparative Law<br />
(M.C.L) from <strong>the</strong> International Islamic University<br />
Malaysia. In 2010 he completed his Ph.D (Sports<br />
Law) from <strong>the</strong> National University Malaysia<br />
(UKM). His doctoral <strong>the</strong>sis explored <strong>the</strong> legal<br />
status <strong>of</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essional footballers <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> roles<br />
<strong>of</strong> players’ association with particular focus on<br />
<strong>the</strong> FA <strong>of</strong> Malaysia.<br />
Jady is currently work<strong>in</strong>g as a Senior Lecturer at<br />
UKM. He is also an Engagement Expert at Policy<br />
<strong>and</strong> Strategic Plann<strong>in</strong>g with <strong>the</strong> M<strong>in</strong>istry <strong>of</strong><br />
Youth & Sports, Malaysia <strong>and</strong> a Certified<br />
Mediator <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Malaysian Mediation Centre,<br />
Malaysia BAR Council. He authored An Introduction<br />
to Sports Law <strong>in</strong> Malaysia: <strong>Legal</strong><br />
Guidel<strong>in</strong>es for Sportspersons <strong>and</strong> Sports<br />
Adm<strong>in</strong>istrators (LexisNexis, 2005).<br />
Pr<strong>of</strong>. dr. Marko Ilesic is a judge at <strong>the</strong> Court <strong>of</strong><br />
Justice <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> European Union <strong>and</strong> President <strong>of</strong><br />
its Third Chamber. He was a pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> civil<br />
<strong>and</strong> commercial <strong>law</strong> <strong>and</strong> Dean <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Faculty <strong>of</strong><br />
Law at <strong>the</strong> University <strong>of</strong> Ljubljana.<br />
He has held various judicial functions at <strong>the</strong> Slovenian<br />
Labour Court <strong>and</strong> Sports Tribunal. He<br />
was an arbitrator at <strong>the</strong> Chamber <strong>of</strong> Commerce<br />
<strong>of</strong> Yugoslavia, at <strong>the</strong> Slovenian Chamber <strong>of</strong><br />
Commerce <strong>and</strong> at <strong>the</strong> International Chamber <strong>of</strong><br />
Commerce <strong>in</strong> Paris.<br />
Marko was also a judge on <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Appeals<br />
<strong>of</strong> UEFA <strong>and</strong> FIFA, <strong>the</strong> President <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Union <strong>of</strong><br />
Slovenian Lawyers’ Associations <strong>and</strong> a member<br />
<strong>of</strong> several <strong>in</strong>ternational legal associations.<br />
Jady coord<strong>in</strong>ated <strong>the</strong> research for <strong>the</strong> soon to<br />
be published FIFPro Black Book Asia, concern<strong>in</strong>g<br />
<strong>the</strong> current abuse <strong>of</strong> players’ rights <strong>in</strong><br />
various countries <strong>in</strong> Asia <strong>and</strong> Oceania.<br />
