News from the WLD
October has been a very busy month for WLD members:
Pamper Night @ Beauty Bazaar – Friday 2nd October 2015
On Friday 2nd October 2015 the WLD arranged a pamper
evening at Beuaty Bazaar, Harvey Nichols, Liverpool One.
The guests were greeted with a glass of prosecco on arrival
and were made to feel very welcome by all members of
staff. As well as mini treatments there was a cockatil class
and nibbles on the night. We sold a number of raffle tickets
at this event and we are pleased to report that we raised
£118 for the Whitechapel Centre. Beauty Bazaar were also
kind enough to donate a huge raffle prize which contained
many beauty essentials!
WLD would like to thank Beauty Bazaar for hosting such a
great event. We would also like to say thank you to the
sponsors Kingsley Associates, legal recruiters and Wesleyan
for Lawyers, financial advisors for Lawyers.
Whitechapel Charity Sleepout
On Friday 9th October 2015, WLD committee member
Emily Pullan volunteered to participate in the Whitechapel
charity sleepout with one of her friends. The sponsored
sleepout is designed to increase awareness of
homelessness in Liverpool and to raise much needed
funds. Impressively Emily raised over £250. The Whitechapel
Centre’s website identifies how fundraising can help:
£5 pays for a cooked breakfast for 10 rough sleepers
£15 provides an advice session with one of our skilled
workers, securing accommodation for someone who
would otherwise sleep rough.
£25 provides a tutor and materials for a structured training
session, giving homeless people essential life skills.

Liverpool Legal Walk
On Thursday 8th October 2015 WLD participated in the
annual Liverpool Legal Walk.
