Jackson Canter acquires specialist<br />
Commercial <strong>Law</strong> Firm<br />
Jackson Canter Group, one<br />
of the region’s fastest growing<br />
law firms, has acquired Cope<br />
& Co, a boutique<br />
commercial law firm with<br />
offices in Manchester and<br />
<strong>Liverpool</strong>.<br />
The acquisition further<br />
enhances the Group’s<br />
expansion strategy<br />
announced earlier this year<br />
which will include both<br />
organic growth of its <strong>Liverpool</strong><br />
and Manchester offices as<br />
well as the acquisition of firms<br />
whose culture and ethos is<br />
closely aligned to its own. The<br />
acquisition of Cope & Co<br />
enhances the Group’s<br />
presence in the Commercial<br />
sector.<br />
Paul Cope will be working for<br />
QualitySolicitors Jackson<br />
Canter on a consultancy<br />
basis providing a seamless<br />
transition for Cope & Co’s<br />
clients. The acquisition<br />
coincides with the departure<br />
of Michael Sandys,<br />
QualitySolicitors Jackson<br />
Sports Injury Claims<br />
Canter’s current Head of<br />
Commercial, who will move<br />
on to pastures new at the<br />
end of October. Sarah Nolan<br />
has been appointed to<br />
replace Michael and will be<br />
taking over both the<br />
QualitySolicitors Jackson<br />
Canter Commercial<br />
Department and overall<br />
responsibility for Cope & Co.<br />

<strong>Liverpool</strong> law firm, Cassell<br />
Moore, has expanded its<br />
successful family team with<br />
two new appointments. Sarah<br />
McCarthy joins as a chartered<br />
legal executive and Renn<br />
Moucarry joins as a paralegal.<br />
The appointments further<br />
strengthen the department,<br />
which in its first two years has<br />
received Legal 500<br />
recognition, including: “led by<br />
the ‘brilliant’ Pauline<br />
McNamara, [Cassell Moore]<br />
covers a range of matrimonial<br />
and children law cases.”<br />
Sarah, who qualified with the<br />
Chartered Institute of Legal<br />
Executives (CILEx), has 14<br />
years’ experience and<br />
received national recognition<br />
when she was shortlisted for<br />
Family <strong>Law</strong> Legal Executive of<br />
the Year. She specialises in<br />
financial matters arising from<br />
divorce and private law<br />
children matters.<br />
Renn, who studied <strong>Law</strong> and<br />
Criminology at the University<br />
of <strong>Liverpool</strong>, completed a<br />
Graduate Diploma in <strong>Law</strong><br />
and achieved her Legal<br />
Practice Certificate at BPP<br />
<strong>Law</strong> School. She has a keen<br />
interest in humanitarian work<br />
and spent the summer in<br />
Lebanon helping Syrian<br />
refugees. She is also a<br />
member of Young Resolution.<br />
