Jackson Canter acquires specialist
Commercial Law Firm
Jackson Canter Group, one
of the region’s fastest growing
law firms, has acquired Cope
& Co, a boutique
commercial law firm with
offices in Manchester and
Liverpool.
The acquisition further
enhances the Group’s
expansion strategy
announced earlier this year
which will include both
organic growth of its Liverpool
and Manchester offices as
well as the acquisition of firms
whose culture and ethos is
closely aligned to its own. The
acquisition of Cope & Co
enhances the Group’s
presence in the Commercial
sector.
Paul Cope will be working for
QualitySolicitors Jackson
Canter on a consultancy
basis providing a seamless
transition for Cope & Co’s
clients. The acquisition
coincides with the departure
of Michael Sandys,
QualitySolicitors Jackson
Sports Injury Claims
Canter’s current Head of
Commercial, who will move
on to pastures new at the
end of October. Sarah Nolan
has been appointed to
replace Michael and will be
taking over both the
QualitySolicitors Jackson
Canter Commercial
Department and overall
responsibility for Cope & Co.

Liverpool law firm, Cassell
Moore, has expanded its
successful family team with
two new appointments. Sarah
McCarthy joins as a chartered
legal executive and Renn
Moucarry joins as a paralegal.
The appointments further
strengthen the department,
which in its first two years has
received Legal 500
recognition, including: “led by
the ‘brilliant’ Pauline
McNamara, [Cassell Moore]
covers a range of matrimonial
and children law cases.”
Sarah, who qualified with the
Chartered Institute of Legal
Executives (CILEx), has 14
years’ experience and
received national recognition
when she was shortlisted for
Family Law Legal Executive of
the Year. She specialises in
financial matters arising from
divorce and private law
children matters.
Renn, who studied Law and
Criminology at the University
of Liverpool, completed a
Graduate Diploma in Law
and achieved her Legal
Practice Certificate at BPP
Law School. She has a keen
interest in humanitarian work
and spent the summer in
Lebanon helping Syrian
refugees. She is also a
member of Young Resolution.
