Self-clinching fasteners Pem ® Installation 1. Create hole 2. Insert PEM ® fastener 3. Squeeze in 4. Screw on mating piece Instructions • Determine size of hole according to datasheets • Do not deburr or countersink drilled or punched holes • Fastener should be installed in purchside of hole • Squeeze in PEM ® parts (do not use hammer blows!) • Maintain minimum distances to edge (avoid deformation at sheet edge) • When inserting PEM ® parts made of steel or stainless steel in aluminum, squeeze in only after the surface has been anodized Technical data • Thread tolerance: nuts 6H, studs 6g / 4h. Accuracy to gauge according to ISO 1502 • UNC / UNF threads upon request • Corrosion resistance: steel parts are zinc-plated and passivated, layer thickness 5 – 6 μ, stainless steel = passivated • Other plaitings upon request • All dimensions are specified in mm 11
