4 integrated relays, manual or sensor-based switchable
The Didactum monitoring system 500 provides four built-in relays. Here you can connect external
devices such as fans, etc.. These can then be switched on and off manually or automatically
by the integrated logic of the Didactum remote monitoring appliance.
Example:
The precise Didactum temperature sensor (No. 14010) detects a temperature rise in the Server cabinet.
To protect the sensitive server, the Didactum rack monitoring system automatically switches
the connected fan systems. After restoring the desired temperature in rack, the fans will are turned
off automatically. This example is transferable to other constellations.
Mapping function / integrated logic for notifications and alarms
The Didactum Monitoring System provides users with a built-in map function. Here you can integrate
the floor plan of your infrastructure. Then you can easly insert the installed Didactum
Sensors into the map. Critical events (water leakage, temperature rise, etc.) can be displayed
on the alarm map. The Didactum monitoring device provides notification and alerts such as E-
mail, SMS (GSM modem required), and SNMP traps. You can also merge Didactum sensors to
groups and define logical links for automatical actions.
Example:
Due to an air conditioning failure, the temperature in server room and server cabinets rises.
In the WebGUI of the Didactum measurement and alert system, you specify that in case of cabinet
temperature of 30 ° C, the connected fan unit must be switched on.
Should the temperature exceeds the temperature of 40 ° Celsius, a second fan system is switched on
and the technicians / administrators must be alerted by email and SMS.
As part of your emergency plan, you can create your individual alarm schedules.
All events are stored in the syslog of Didactum monitoring device and can be easily exported.
Optional Quad-Band GSM Modem with SMS-Command functionalities
The Didactum Monitoring System can be equipped with an optional GSM modem (item No. 14025).
Critical conditions and malfunctions in your sensible infrastructure can be reported via SMS.
To do this, simply enter the phone numbers and the names of the recipients. The content of the
SMS message can be set individually. By using SMS command functions, your Didactum Monitoring
Systems can perfom automatic actions. This is very helpful in case of Network failure or
for unmanned locations without network / internet connection. After you have defined the mobile
phone numbers, you can send important commands such as switching relays on or off.
Each SMS command is acknowledged by Didactum device via SMS .
