July: Initiated contract with Guardian Flight to provide Dispatch
services for their Medivac services, in conjunction with Guardian
Flight’s Sitka expansion.
August: Detective Division’s Forensic Data Recovery Lab fully-equipped and
operational
September: F.P.D. celebrates its 100 th year of service to the community!
The memorial honoring Interior Alaska Police Officers killed in the
line-of-duty is completed at 911 Cushman Street, and is dedicated
on F.P.D.’s Centennial.
The second Police Corps Academy is begun, with two F.P.D.
recruits attending.
October: Tactical Team and Patrol Members
utilized Fort Wainwright’s new fortymillion
dollar urban warfare training
center, conducting coordinated interagency
training exercises through our
Homeland Security grant.
December: F.P.D. Employees, working with the Fairbanks Native Association
and Toys-for-Tots, raise $2500.00 in Christmas gifts to deliver to
nineteen sponsored children from low-income families.
