NIGHT (an excerpt)<br />
Tides: yes, breath<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>and</strong> love be<strong>in</strong>g a tide com<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>and</strong> reced<strong>in</strong>g, a<br />
pendular <strong>in</strong>sanity, as impatient <strong>in</strong> its regularity as this gaze <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>built<br />
<strong>in</strong>stability of metals.<br />
When unruly forms move too closely to laptops <strong>the</strong>re occurs a<br />
transfer of transparencies. A passenger is board<strong>in</strong>g a ship with me.<br />
Let’s live before dy<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
Vision is a rumor, some steam. The body produces th<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g, behaves<br />
like movies. Moves <strong>and</strong> makes move.<br />
At times, an appetite for death creates a withdrawal <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> orig<strong>in</strong> of<br />
heat, <strong>and</strong> turns <strong>the</strong> world <strong>in</strong>to a blur.<br />
A woman mourns her dead lover while everyth<strong>in</strong>g buckles under<br />
her sorrow’s pressure. Her days are go<strong>in</strong>g to grow longer.<br />
Nights are breath<strong>in</strong>g. Div<strong>in</strong>e will circulates around <strong>the</strong>ir edges. A<br />
precocious summer lies naked on a granite wall. The ocean is my<br />
l<strong>and</strong>.<br />
Disastrous are disasters. Paradise is such a lonely place that we are<br />
doomed, anyway. At <strong>the</strong> meet<strong>in</strong>g po<strong>in</strong>t of its rivers <strong>the</strong> horizon is<br />
always enlarged, <strong>the</strong> imag<strong>in</strong>ation, unleashed.<br />
In <strong>the</strong> courtyard, <strong>the</strong> sun is scribbl<strong>in</strong>g shadows on <strong>the</strong> fad<strong>in</strong>g roses.<br />
I’m spend<strong>in</strong>g hours wait<strong>in</strong>g for <strong>the</strong> next hour.<br />
Love is a s<strong>and</strong>storm that loosens reality’s build<strong>in</strong>g stones. Its<br />
feverish energy takes us <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> heart of confusion. Sometimes, a<br />
frozen moon illum<strong>in</strong>ates frozen fields.<br />
There’s so much life around me, <strong>and</strong> I will have to leave.<br />
My breath<strong>in</strong>g is a tide, love doesn’t die.<br />
