Ballincollig Youthreach
Bedazzles our Bard for 15Oth Birthday Celebration
Recently, Ballincollig Youthreach students took
part in Sligo Youthreach’s W.B. Yeats 150th
Birthday Poetry Competition. Each student had
to compose their own poem using two lines
from a Yeats poem. Teacher, Breda Dennehy,
was ecstatic and in awe of her students
participation, resulting in concise and yet
effective poems.

Dream Extreme
I have spread my dreams under
your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on
my dreams.
My youthreach days are now
complete,
My dreams are now part of my
schemes.
Caring youthreach has made me
positive & up-beat;
How lucky I am to know this youthreach
team.
I beam and glow on their wisdom
sheet,
Yes, youthreach, taught me to
dream extreme!

T he Rant
I ranted to the knave and fool,
But outgrew that school.
Youthreach is a new start,
More inclusive with less rule.
Motto: participate and play your part.
It’s not that cruel – new skills with tools,
Maths, Communications and Activities – cool!
Teamwork, Mechanics, Hairdressing and Art,
Catering, IT, PE and swimming pool.
Get fit and earn a Marathon start!
