A Leaving Lunch for Ballincollig Youthreach Finishing Students 2015 Ballincollig Youthreach students enjoyed a well-deserved lunch at Oriel House on completion of QQI Cork Education and Training (Cetb) Level 4 programmes. Phone 021 4875432 Magnificent Marathoners Ballincollig learners’ resolve prevailed in one of the wettest and windiest Cork City Marathons. The learners youth team finished eighteenth out of sixty eight teams in the Cork Youth Relay Challenge. Youth Relay team leader, Breda Dennehy, was thrilled for the team’s determination, tenacity and belief in their own ability to finish so well in atrocious weather conditions. Darren Shanahan, Agnius Dapsys, Thomas Jones, Urla Coomey, Keith Newman, Linda O’Driscoll and team leader Breda Dennehy Ballincollig Youthreach Celebration of Completion Coordinator, Bernie O’Liatháin, presented student, Agnius Dapsys, his Ballincollig Youthreach Completion Certificate. Agnius has achieved a QQI Level 4 General Learning Award and is looking forward to receiving his certificate at the Cork Education and Training Board (Cetb)QQI Further Education Awards in November. Presently, Agnius is studying Sport & Recreation Cork. Presently Robyn is studing Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) with a view to working in China. Recently, Ballincollig students Thomas Jones and Darren Shanahan fundraised for Ballincollig Community Forum by bravely participating in The Kube at Oriel House Hotel, Ballincollig. The Kube Fundraising Event based on the idea of the popular ITV Gameshow, The Cube, highly entertained members and guests while raising funds for a new Community Centre in Ballincollig.
Ballincollig Youthreach Bedazzles our Bard for 15Oth Birthday Celebration Recently, Ballincollig Youthreach students took part in Sligo Youthreach’s W.B. Yeats 150th Birthday Poetry Competition. Each student had to compose their own poem using two lines from a Yeats poem. Teacher, Breda Dennehy, was ecstatic and in awe of her students participation, resulting in concise and yet effective poems. Lasher Learners Youthreach is the place to be, It’s where you get your FETAC 3! Linda, Aggie, Orin and Robyn, We’re the ones that do the slaggin.
