Our Board of Directors...<br />
“….I placed a request for a cheque<br />
book with my branch about 3<br />
weeks ago. As of today, no one<br />
has called to inform me whether<br />
it’s in or not. Why is this taking so<br />
long these days...? Have things<br />
changed with your Bank…?” Those<br />
were the words of an obviously<br />
irate customer who had called me<br />
on the phone to express her frustration.<br />
It was not unusual to have<br />
such an experience as my contact<br />
details are displayed in our Banking<br />
halls as a sign of our commitment<br />
to service excellence. I listened patiently<br />
to the customer and offered<br />
to ensure that her needs were catered<br />
to at the earliest time practicable.<br />
Worrying though it was,<br />
to hear such news from a client I<br />
could ignore the fact that within<br />
that feeling of distress lay a subtle<br />
realization of how far we had come<br />
as an institution. That day was<br />
March 4th, 2013.<br />
Since 2008 when we commenced<br />
operations, BEIGE<br />
Capital witnessed continuous<br />
growth in scope, size and nature<br />
of operations. From the<br />
initial status of a money lending<br />
institution, we have survived<br />
the delivery of financial<br />
services at the micro and small<br />
scale levels and have now built<br />
capacity to provide banking<br />
services to medium-sized institutions.<br />
Beyond gaining maturity,<br />
our experience over the period<br />
has usefully transformed<br />
our understanding of the market,<br />
our clients, our people and<br />
even other stakeholders such<br />
that our relationships are getting<br />
better by age. Today, we<br />
hold dear and remain more<br />
resolute to our ideals–integrity,<br />
discipline, commitment,hard<br />
work and teamwork – as a<br />
company.<br />
Our credentials are modest for<br />
now but not our aspirations…..<br />
they are ambitious. We are and<br />
would continue to invest more<br />
in our people, systems and<br />
procedures as well as other initiatives<br />
