Do vì nội dung hai quyển Hồi Ký của tôi viết về một giai đoạn lịch sử tranh đấu chống Cộng của người Việt hải ngoại sau ngày 30/4/1.975. Thế nhưng, yêu cầu của nhà báo Mỹ lại tập chú vào các hoạt động giết người của Việt Tân tại Mỹ và tại chiến khu, khiến tôi chưa muốn gặp họ để được thu hình trả lời cuộc phỏng vấn. Nhà báo Mỹ, ông A.C. Thompson, với một người Việt ở California nhiều lần gởi email cho tôi từ tháng 7 đến tháng 9 để thúc giục. Yêu cầu của họ là muốn gặp tôi tại Đông Nam Á để đoàn làm phim của họ thu hình trực tiếp khi tôi nói về cuộc thảm sát do Việt Tân thực hiện tại khu chiến ở biên giới Thái-Lào. Họ thuyết phục tôi rằng, tác phẩm và lời làm chứng của tôi sẽ có tầm quan trọng hàng đầu cho cuốn phim tài liệu của đài truyền hình Mỹ mà có đến hàng triệu người Mỹ quan tâm theo dõi.

Vào tháng 7 năm nay, tôi nhận được email của một thân hữu cho biết có nhà báo <strong>Mỹ</strong><br />
muốn tiếp xúc với tôi qua điện thoại để thực hiện cuộc phỏng vấn liên hệ đến cuốn sách<br />
của tôi: Hành <strong>Trình</strong> Người Đi Cứu Nước. Tôi trả lời với thân hữu rằng, tôi muốn trao đổi<br />
qua email với nhà báo <strong>Mỹ</strong> đó, trước khi cho số điện thoại để thực hiện cuộc phỏng vấn.<br />

Do vấn đề an ninh cá nhân, và chưa tin họ hoàn toàn, nên tôi chỉ đồng ý trả lời cuộc<br />
phỏng vấn qua emai. Tức là, họ ghi một số câu hỏi, và tôi sẽ viết trả lời, rồi tôi tự thu âm<br />
bằng dạng MP3 để gởi lại họ qua email.<br />

Đây là đài truyền hình nổi tiếng, rất có uy tín về các tài liệu phóng sự điều tra tội phạm<br />
hình sự giết người và giáo dục thế hệ trẻ, với số lượng khán giả lên đến hàng triệu người,<br />
được truyền hình trên khắp nước <strong>Mỹ</strong>.<br />
Khi về Đông Nam Á, trước khi gặp tôi, nhà báo <strong>Mỹ</strong> đã email cho biết, ông có đi tới tỉnh<br />
Ubon – Thái Lan, và sử dụng các bản đồ trên quyển sách của tôi để lần đường đi vào<br />
vùng lập khu chiến Hoàng Cơ Minh vào đầu thập niên 1.980. Tuy nhiên, ông cũng viết<br />
rằng, cảnh vật sau hơn 20 năm đã thay đổi rất nhiều.<br />
Trong tháng 9, do có vài điểm chưa sáng tỏ trong các cuộc trao đổi bằng email. Nên tôi<br />
không đồng ý trả lời cuộc phỏng vấn.<br />
Tuy nhiên tôi cho họ biết, điều thứ nhất, tôi rất ủng hộ việc điều tra của họ về những cái<br />
chết của nhiều người <strong>Việt</strong> Nam do Đảng <strong>Việt</strong> <strong>Tân</strong> hãm hại. Và họ có toàn quyền trích dẫn<br />
những chứng cứ trong tác phẩm Hành <strong>Trình</strong> Người Đi Cứu Nước với điều kiện là phải<br />
ghi tên tác giả và tác phẩm cho công chúng <strong>Mỹ</strong> được biết rõ xuất xứ của nguồn tin.
Thứ hai là họ có quyền dịch nhiều trang trong tác phẩm của tôi qua Anh Ngữ.<br />
Thứ ba, họ có thể sử dụng các thông tin tài liệu, hình ảnh cá nhân tôi liên quan đến hoạt<br />
động tranh đấu vì dân chủ và chống Cộng đã được tôi phát tán trên các website, blog<br />
Phạm Hoàng Tùng ...để đưa vào cuốn phim tài liệu điều tra về tội ác <strong>Việt</strong> <strong>Tân</strong>.<br />
Và nay, vào ngày 3/11 (theo giờ <strong>Mỹ</strong>), chương trình truyền hình của <strong>Đài</strong> PSB sẽ chiếu<br />
trên toàn nước <strong>Mỹ</strong> để hàng triệu người <strong>Mỹ</strong> biết về sự thật các hành động giết người của<br />
Đảng <strong>Việt</strong> <strong>Tân</strong>.<br />
Kinh Phật có câu: Quả báo nhãn tiền. Còn dân gian thì nói: Nợ máu thì trả bằng máu!!!<br />

Between 1981 and 1990, five Vietnamese-American journalists in cities across the U.S.<br />
were murdered, and many others in the community were intimidated and attacked.<br />
Who was responsible for this reign of terror — and why has that question gone<br />
unanswered for so long?<br />
On November 3, FRONTLINE and ProPublica will unveil Terror in Little Saigon, a<br />
multiplatform investigation that reopens a domestic terrorism case that has gone unsolved<br />
for decades.<br />
“From the Houston, Texas editor who was shot to death in his home — his paper was<br />
called Freedom — to the Orange County, California publisher who was killed inside his<br />
office in an arson attack, we wanted to look into these brutal murders and find answers,”
says correspondent A.C. Thompson (Life and Death in Assisted Living, Law &<br />
Disorder), who spent two years digging into the case alongside director/producer Rick<br />
Rowley (Dirty Wars, Zapatista).<br />
For the most part, the murders were overlooked by the mainstream press, and the victims<br />
have been forgotten.<br />
“Typically, violent attacks on journalists spark public outrage and calls for answers,”<br />
Rowley says. “But no one was ever held accountable for the murders of these<br />
Vietnamese-American journalists.”<br />
Drawing on thousands of pages of documents — including newly declassified FBI files<br />
as well as police records, CIA cables and immigration files — FRONTLINE and<br />
ProPublica tracked down the victims’ families, former law enforcement agents, and<br />
Vietnamese Americans across the country to shed new light on these cold cases.<br />
The murdered journalists all worked for small-circulation Vietnamese-language<br />
publications serving the refugee population that had sought shelter in the U.S. after the<br />
fall of Saigon in 1975. And as FRONTLINE and ProPublica’s investigation found, there<br />
was another common thread: many of those publications had criticized a prominent, anti-<br />
Communist organization called the National United Front for the Liberation of Vietnam<br />
— or, “The Front” — whose ultimate goal was to restart the Vietnam War.<br />
In Terror in Little Saigon, FRONTLINE and ProPublica uncover a trail of terror that<br />
leads from U.S. cities like Houston and San Francisco to the jungles of Southeast Asia.<br />
The investigative team tracked down former members of the Front, confirmed that the<br />
group had operated a secret assassination squad in the U.S., and uncovered new,<br />
potentially connected murder cases overseas.<br />
A gripping new chapter in a long-dormant case, Terror in Little Saigon airs Tuesday,<br />
November 3 at 10/9c on <strong>PBS</strong> (check local listings) and will stream in full, for free, online<br />
