WHY IS REAL REPORTING VITAL TO GLOBAL-
AWARENESS AND TO BUILD AN INFORMED
AND ENGAGED SOCIETY?
BREAK 14:15-14:30
Workshop
Room G01
13:00-14:15
The impact of digital technology on news media cannot be
overstated, and has changed the way we consume news. In this
workshop, we will provide teaching strategies to help students
become more “information literate”, and able to discern credible
news sources. Through an examination of various digital news
media, we will also demonstrate how incorporating news reporting
into the curriculum can enrich a student’s learning experience and
aid in the teaching of valuable skills, such as critical thinking.
