Action Oriented
THE PROGRAM
Considering domestic markets limitations and challenges,
going global could help organizations and leaders to
overcome the volatile economy and the increasingly complex
business environment. Business leaders need to be able to
expand their horizon to consider different ways of doing
business; realize factors and values affecting their expansion
across borders as well as visualize the financial and economic
dynamics that affect such endeavors.
GoGlobal is designed as a business forum with the aim to
offer senior executives and business owners a valuable
opportunity to network, interact, and reflect with peers and
experts from different industries and fields.
It builds on the knowledge and skills of executives and offers
them the opportunity to interact using relevant theories,
international cases and experiences that will serve as a
medium for contemplation and study.
GoGlobal is led by international experts who are leading
authorities in their areas of specialization, and who have the
theoretical knowledge as well as hands on experience in the
global market and have offered advice and consulting to
100s of the world top organizations.
GoGlobal is designed to include short lectures by renowned
experts sharing the theoretical background as well as case
studies that offer a comparative dimension and allow
executives to reflect on their own strategies in an interactive
workshop format. The lectures are supported by specialized
panels of professionals and diplomats addressing relevant
topics that will give participants additional insights and
knowledge. The reflection sessions will introduce
international decision models and open the floor for
executives to apply them at their workplace and environment.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE
Module 1
Getting Across
Module 1 focuses on presenting the latest practical
techniques and models in the fields of
communication, leadership and negotiations, which
will allow global leaders to get their message across
internally and externally. The facilitators of this
module will bring an extensive practical experience
and international exposure that offer great insights
and knowledge.
1.Leadership by Tommy Weir
Leadership is not a copy-and-paste recipe; a
successful leader has to adapt his leadership style to
accommodate cultural and contextual differences
and circumstances. Weir has advised and offered
consultations to many organizations worldwide and
has developed a practical guide for leadership in the
Middle East that will be the basis of discussion with
participants to elaborate on leadership styles and
ways to adapt.
Book: 10 Tips for Leading in the Middle East, Tommy
Weir
2. Managing Diversity in the Global Organization
by Celia De Anca
Diversity is a dilemma that faces all organizations
seeking to expand globally. Taming diversity can
uncover enormous benefits and opportunities for
business leaders to propel their organizations to the
next level. De Anca will showcase the best practices
by organizations, which managed to foster diversity
and inclusiveness in a workplace and the impact of
such success on the organizations’ performance.
Book: Managing Diversity in the Global Organization:
Creating New Business Values, Celia De Anca and
Antonio Vásquez
3. Negotiating Internationally by Richard Lewis
Culture defines the way people behave, interact and
negotiate, accordingly it is extremely important for
global leaders to identify international negotiation
styles, patterns and the role cultural context plays
in negotiation. Lewis will share with the
participants the negotiation styles of different
nationalities and will solicit their input and
experiences in an interactive workshop.
4. Ethical Intelligence by: Bruce Weinstein
Ethical intelligence may be the most valuable form
of intelligence, especially for executives. Whereas,
emotional intelligence helps you understand how
other people are feeling, ethical intelligence helps
you decide how to make the best possible choices as
a leader, which benefits you and your organization.
Global Money
Module 3
Market-Maker
or Share-Taker?
Module 2 aims at providing a glimpse of the global
macroeconomic and financial indicators essential for
doing business globally. It builds on the participants’
existing knowledge and experience and will be
conducted in an open discussion forum format
where the experts will facilitate discussions raised by
the executives.
1. Global Economics
The global economy is going through severe
uncertainty swings with the slowing down of China's
growth, the serious challenges facing the European
Union under its current structure, and the US
economy's alarm at the Federal Reserve's shift from
rescue policies to counter inflation. Meanwhile,
emerging markets are warily watching this
uncertainty unfold with serious ramifications to
their growth prospects. What does this mean to
global corporations, how should they interpret the
signals coming out of these hot spots, and how to
react appropriately?
Are you innovative enough to go global? Can you
compete internationally and create new value to
global customers? This module is all about
innovation and creativity in developing a business
model that can cross borders.
Business Models: Innovation to build, deliver
and capture value by Saul Kaplan
Kaplan shares the underlying principles of
business model innovation. How can you develop
a sound innovative value proposition and be able
to deliver it consistently. Cases and examples of
innovative models will be discussed and you will
have the opportunity to share your ideas, seek
input and suggestions.
Book: The Business Model Innovation Factory: How to
Stay Relevant When The World is Changing, Saul Kaplan
2. Navigating the Financial Sphere by Jaap Spronk
This session will address the importance of
understanding the role monetary policy plays in
determining market entry and mode of operations. It
tackles issues related to understanding the dynamics
and options related to sourcing financing for cross
border expansion. It also evaluates means of market
entry through mergers, acquisitions or other forms.
