Für die neue Boeing-777-
300ER-Flotte hat Swiss
AviationTraining einen Airbus-
Simulator zu einem weltweit
einzigartigen Flugsimulator
umgebaut, in dem sich unsere
Pilotinnen und Piloten nun auf
die «Triple Seven» vor bereiten.
Wenn Sie wollen, auch Sie!
Hersteller von Simulatoren hielten kaum
für möglich, was Swiss AviationTraining
(SAT) zusammen mit Teams von CAE
(Hersteller und globaler Simulationsanbieter),
Boeing und SWISS innerhalb
von nur vier Monaten geschafft hat: Ein
Airbus Simulator wurde erfolgreich zu
einem Boeing-Simulator umgebaut!
Mitte August hat SAT den weltweit ersten
EASA-zertifizierten Flugsimulator für
die neue s te Boeing-777-300ER-Flugzeugversion
an die Trainingseinheit von
SWISS in den SAT-Gebäuden in Kloten
übergeben. Die Konfiguration des
Simulators entspricht zu 99,9 Prozent
der Boeing 777-300ER. Die Pilotencrews
finden im Training also dieselbe Ausstattung
und dieselben Funktionen wie
im Flugzeug vor.
So ist neu auch das iBag eingebunden,
welches eine Weiterentwicklung des
EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) auf Basis eines
iPads darstellt. Es dient zur erleichterten
papierlosen Informationsverwaltung
und ersetzt sozusagen den Crewkoffer
einer Pilotin / eines Piloten.
Das Sichtsystem (Visual) ist mit der aktuellsten
Technologie (Tropos 6000 XR)
ausgestattet und ermöglicht mit seinen
integrierten hochauflösenden Satellitenbildern
ein äusserst realitätsnahes Training.
Man wähnt sich wirklich in einem
richtigen Flugzeug auf einem realen Flug!
For use with our new Boeing
777-300ER fleet, Swiss
AviationTraining recently
completed a project to
convert an Airbus simu lator
into a worldwide one-of-a-kind
simulator in which our pilots
now train for the triple seven.
And so can you!
Hearing of the project to convert an Airbus
simulator into a Boeing simulator, the simulator
industry considered the ambitious
goal virtually impossible – and yet that is
exactly what Swiss AviationTraining (SAT)
has succeeded in doing, and all within
four months, with the help of teams from
CAE (manufacturer and global provider
of aviation simulators), Boeing and SWISS!
The world’s first EASA-certified flight simulator
for the latest Boeing 777-300ER was
handed over to the SWISS training operation
in August at the SAT site in Kloten.
The simulator is configured for a 99.9 per
cent match with the SWISS Boeing 777-
300ER. The pilots who train on it will have
exactly the same functions and options
available to them as they will have on the
actual aircraft. The simulator features the
new iBag, for example – a further
development of the electronic flight bag
(EFB) in iPad form that will help to promote
paperless information management
and replace the pilot’s traditional crew bag.
The visuals on the new simulator are
based on the very latest Tropos 6000 XR
technology. With its integrated high-resolution
satellite images, the visual system
provides an extremely realistic simulator
training experience: just like being in a real
aircraft on an actual flight!
Exclusive prize draw!
Take a closer look at this incredible
technology: we are giving away
three flights in the new Boeing 777
simulator! Take part in the prize draw
for a chance to win a 60-minute simulator
flight for two in December 2015
with Swiss AviationTraining in Zurich
Kloten.
Im Rahmen des Projekts
wurden insgesamt 6
Tonnen neues Material
für den Boeing-777-
Simulator eingebaut.
Rund 9 Tonnen der
entfernten A330/340-
Simulator teile wurden
zur Wiederverwendung
an CAE versandt. 11
Kilometer Kabel wurden
entfernt und dank
neuester Technologie
durch nur 6 Kilometer
ersetzt. Beteiligt
waren nebst Boeing,
CAE, SWISS und SAT
acht weitere Unternehmen
mit insgesamt
60 Mitarbeitenden.
This conversion project
involved the procurement
of some 6 tonnes
of new material for the
new Boeing 777 simulator.
Around 9 tonnes of
the ori ginal Airbus
A330/340 simulator
were sent to CAE in 26
large crates for reuse.
Eleven kilo metres of
wiring have been removed
and – thanks to the
latest technology –
replaced by just 6 kilometres
thereof. Boeing,
CAE, SWISS, SAT and
some 60 more personnel
from eight further
companies have been
involved.
