10.4 <strong>Power</strong> Meters<br />

The following section describes <strong>Power</strong> Metering objects. These objects may be defined under a<br />

<strong>Power</strong> Meter device which is declared using the ACPI000D hardware identifier (_HID).<br />

Description<br />

Gets the averaging interval used by the power meter.<br />

Gets the hardware power consumption limit that is enforced by the <strong>Power</strong> Meter.<br />

Sets the power averaging interval used by the <strong>Power</strong> Meter.<br />

Returns <strong>Power</strong> Meter capabilities.<br />

Returns a list of devices whose power consumption is measured by the <strong>Power</strong> Meter.<br />

Returns the power consumption measured by the <strong>Power</strong> Meter.<br />

Sets <strong>Power</strong> Meter device trip points.<br />

Sets the hardware power consumption limit that is enforced by the <strong>Power</strong> Meter.<br />

10.4.1 _PMC (<strong>Power</strong> Meter Capabilities)<br />

This object returns the capabilities of a power meter. This information remains constant unless either<br />

the power meter’s firmware or the BMC hardware changes, at which time the platform is required to<br />

send Notify(power_meter, 0x80) for the OSPM to re-evaluate _PMC.<br />
