At R.I.A. Federal Credit Union, Kids Are Rewarded For Stepping Up Mark McLaughlin Mickle Communications R.I.A. Federal Credit Union takes pride in our Quad-Cities communities and believes strongly in the concept of “Paying it forward.” They have impacted our community for over 80 years and now they are rewarding kids who do the same. R.I.A. has teamed up with KWQC TV-6 to honor kids in the Quad Cities and surrounding area who have made a big impact by helping others. “The kids we recognize are rewarded with checks for $500,” said Jacob Ward, Vice President of Marketing for R.I.A. Federal Credit Union. “So far, we have honored two kids and we’re in the process of selecting a third one. These kids have big hearts and are passionate about the causes they support. They deserve to be recognized for their outstanding contributions to the community.” The program to recognize helpful kids began in March of this year, and one child is selected every three months. Four will be honored in 2016. Members of the community are encouraged to nominate helpful kids who have steppedup for their school, church, community or organization. To nominate a Quad-Cities child for this honor, go to http:// rewards.kwqc.com/Contest/1TPXFH. To qualify, the child must be in the school K-12 age range and live in the KWQC-TV6 viewing area. Nominations will be reviewed by R.I.A. Federal Credit Union for accuracy. The Value of Saving R.I.A. Federal Credit Union also believes that kids should learn the value of saving. That is why they offer the Kids Are Rewarded for Saving (KARS) Program, which instructs and rewards kids to help them reach their goals. The mascot of the program, Axle, encourages kids to take pride in financial responsibility. Through the program, kids can earn rewards and keep track of their savings with a Saver’s Punch Card. One deposit counts as one punch. Once enough punches have been saved, the card can be redeemed for prizes. Contests and events are held for children in the community throughout the year. R.I.A.
