Technology
Siopor® consists of a water repellent polyester outer
layer with a hydrophilic polyurethane coating on the
inside. The breathability of the fabric is assured by
the specific structure of the coating. The microporous
basecoat has millions of microscopic “canals”. These
pores are a thousand times smaller than waterdrops,
but considerably larger than moisture vapour
molecules allowing them to evaporate. An additional
hydrophilic PU coating transports the moisture vapour
molecules to the outside of the garment in a molecular
chemical way under the influence of an energy
difference (temperature, moisture) between the inside
and the outside of the garment. The fabric “breathes”,
perspiration can escape.
The outer polyester fabric receives a durable water
and dirt/oil repellent finish, so it doesn’t get soaked and
stays clean longer. The seams of all Siopor® garments
are taped with the most advanced technology.
