MySQL Workb<strong>en</strong>ch Refer<strong>en</strong>ce<br />

There are three options under the DATABASE m<strong>en</strong>u option:<br />

• REVERSE ENGINEERING – Create a model from an existing database. For more information, see Section 15.2, “Reverse Engineering<br />

a Live Database (Commercial Version)”.<br />

• FORWARD ENGINEERING – Create a database from a model. For more information, see Section 16.2, “Forward Engineering to a<br />

Live Server (Commercial Version)”.<br />

• SYNCHRONIZE ... – Synchronize your database model with an existing database. For more information, see Section 16.3,<br />

“Database Synchronization (Commercial Version)”.<br />

• GENERATE SCHEMA DIFF REPORT – Compare your schema model with a live database or a script file. Section 16.4, “Creating a<br />

Schema Diff Report (Commercial Version)”.<br />

These options are not available in the MySQL Workb<strong>en</strong>ch OSS version.<br />

The PLUGINS m<strong>en</strong>u option lists any plug-ins that you may have installed. For more information about this m<strong>en</strong>u option see<br />

6.2.8. The Tools M<strong>en</strong>u<br />

The OPTIONS m<strong>en</strong>u sets MySQL Workb<strong>en</strong>ch defaults. Choosing the OPTIONS m<strong>en</strong>u item op<strong>en</strong>s the following dialog box:<br />
