Costume Parade kicks off Saturday, Oct. 24th at 11AM
It is recommended to ARRIVE EARLY...9:30AM or before! Rehoboth Avenue will be closed Saturday
from 10:30AM-2PM for the Costume Parade. See pages 3-5 for important parking information!
PARADE DETAILS. Costumed public is welcome to enter
the walking section of the Parade and Costume Contest.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 11AM. The number
of walkers is unlimited and registration begins at 10AM at
the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center (229 Rehoboth
Avenue) with walkers lining up outside the Hall. The
walkers and balloon handlers will lead the parade turning
right out of the Convention Center parking lot, heading
West on Rehoboth Avenue. Walkers will cross into
the eastbound lanes of Rehoboth Avenue at Christian St.
(M&T Bank/Jack Lingo Realtor) and will proceed east on
the Avenue towards the Bandstand turning in front of the
Bandstand and continue on the Avenue westward; finishing
at Village By The Sea. People Only - No pets, livestock,
wild animals or reptiles. Get your Sea Witch Mask
with $1 donation!
A maximum of fifty (50) pre-registered motorized vehicles,
floats, and groups of 20+ will begin lining up at
330 Rehoboth Avenue and State Street at 10AM. Preregistered
entries will follow the walkers. Candy, beads,
etc. may not be thrown from said rolling/motorized
vehicle, but can be handed to spectators. The merged
groups will proceed east on Rehoboth Avenue (toward)
the Bandstand and continue on the Avenue westward.
The motorized vehicles will follow Rehoboth Avenue out of
town to Route 1. See parade route on page 3.
GRAND MARSHALLS. The parade will be lead by the
2014 Business of the Year, Big Fish Restaurant Group
& the Sea Witch Clipper Ship pirated by the Stewart
Family.
AWARDS. Costumes are judged during the parade as
they pass the review stand. Everyone receives a parade
ribbon at registration. The top 25 costumed, top 10
motorized and judges’ favorite band will receive trophies.
Winners will be posted at the Information Table Area
after 2PM and on www.Beach-Fun.com on the following
Monday.
PARADE ON TV. New for 2015, the Costume Parade will
be televised live on Saturday, October 24th from 11AM-
2PM on WRDE NBC Coast TV. The parade will re-air on
Sunday, October 25th from 11AM-2PM on MyCoziTV.
PARADE BAD WEATHER PLAN. In the event of unsafe
weather, the parade may be postponed until 11AM on
Sunday, October 25, 2015. In the event of postponement
ONLY WALKING PARTICIPANTS who can meet the
requirements of the Boardwalk size, etc. may participate in
the costume walking parade on the Rehoboth Boardwalk
(follow the same route as dog parade, see p. 15). THERE
IS NO SCHEDULED RAIN DATE OR LOCATION FOR
FLOATS OR MOTORIZED VEHICLES.
WEATHER DEPENDENT. Any cancellation/postponement
will be announced on the radio stations: WGMD
92.7 FM, BIG Classic Rock 98.5 & 103.5, The B 95.3 &
101.7 and Hot Country 107.7. Also call the Chamber’s
