uring his visit to China, the Industry Minister
invited Chinese players to make a “big
bang investment” in Punjab and and added that the state
government had accepted, in principal, their proposal
to set up an Industrial Cluster in the State as a joint venture.
“The industries of telecommunication, food processing,
agriculture, biochemical plants, electronics
have offered to set up their units in Punjab,” he added.
He informed that the Chinese equipment manufacturers
for mobile telephone ZTE and Huwai had plans
to add capacities in India and would shortly visit Punjab
to explore the investment opportunities.

Zone signed an MoU for setting up a cluster in Punjab.

very village in Punjab will get 4-G connectivity by
December 28. Giving this information during an interaction
with Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal,
Reliance Industries CMD Mukesh Ambani, said Punjab
would become the first State in the country to have broadband
connectivity at the village level.
Reliance had already invested Rs 3,500 crore in the State
and would give employment to 30,000 people in the next
few years.

the demand of 9567 MW , the state has 12,484 MW
available to it. After becoming power-surplus, the
state has been offering immunity from annual
power tariff hikes to all new investors.
The strengthening of the road network in the
state is another positive sign that would encourage
the investors. An investment of about Rs 22,000
crore is in the offing for this purpose.
With three domestic and two international airports
becoming operational the air connectivity to
the state would be an added feature for perspective
investors to look up to.
The logistic and connectivity support has been
fairly outstanding with six container freight stations

and three inland container depots.
The communication network with fourth highest
tele-density in the country and second highest teledensity
in rural areas is an added feather to the
state's cap.
Governance reforms has been yet another major
highlight of the state which saw the age-old practice
of affidavits being done away with along with abolition
of obsolete laws.
Transparent governance, citizen-friendly delivery
of services, e-tendering, facility of filing VAT
returns online, setting up of "Saanjh kendras" and
"seva kendras" have been among various steps
taken to reduce government-public interface.
