la loi 9 Edouard VII, chapitre 86 et amendements
sur les matières suivantes: le mode et la date
des élections du maire et des échevins; la rémunération
du maire et des échevins; imposition
de la taxe scolaire sur les immeubles appartenant
aux contribuables protestants, sur les immeubles
inscrits sur la liste neutre et sur les
immeubles appartenant aux contribuables catholiques;
procédures quant aux règlements concernant
les travaux d'améliorations locales;
permission de fermer en tout ou en partie la
33ième Avenue, pour pourvoir à l'agrandissement
de l'Hôpital Général de Lachine; pouvoir de
réglementer les postes de taxis et de limiter le
nombre ces taxis dans la municipalité; création
d'un fonds de réserve pour l'établissement d'un
musée historique aux fins de commémorer le
Centenaire de la Cité de Lachine; commutation
de taxes à la Northern Electric Co. Ltd. ; pouvoir

of Lachine will appeal to the Legislature of the
province of Quebec, at its next session for the
passing of an Act amending its charter the Act
9 Edward VII, chapter 86 and amendments
for the following purposes: the mode and the
date of the elections of the Mayor and of the
aldermen; the remuneration of the Mayor and
of the aldermen; imposition of school tax on
immoveables belonging to protestant tax-payers,
on the immoveables inscribed on the neutral
panel and on the immobeablejs belonging to
catholic tax-payers; procedures as to by-laws
respecting local improvements; permission to
close, in whole or in part, 33rd Avenue to provide
for the enlargement of the Lachine General
Hospital; power to regulate the taxi stands and
to limit the number of taxis in the municipality;
to constitute a reserve fund for the establishment
of a historical museum for the purpose of
commemorating the Centenary of the City of
Lachine; commutation of taxes to the Northern
Electric Co. Ltd.; power to impose a tax for
the removal of garbages and the service of hygiene
of the City on all property-owners, occupants
and tenants; the union of certain taxes under
the title of "Public Service Tax" for purposes
sof collection; power to pay the upkeepofthe
streets and sidewalks during the whole year
hrough the general funds of the city; and for
other purposes.
