As the conference co-director, I am delighted 

to welcome you to the third annual eLearning 

Innovations Conference and Expo. A lot of the 

work that has been done to bring this event 

together through the leadership, goodwill, 

and hard work of so many team members. I 

specifically wish to recognize the hard work 

played by the KICD planning committee, the 

Conference Secretariat, and the TALENTS’ 

conference staff. 

This conference is a collaborative learning 

event, bringing together a network of scholars, 

educators, and private-public partners who 

embrace ICTs for education and performance 

improvement across all sectors. I also thank 

each one of you for taking time to join us. 

In the next 3 days, you will be sharing your 

experiences with how each of us is involved 

in changing lives through mobile education/ 

eLearning. The 8 tracks featured under this 

theme will bring us exciting conversations, 

thought diversity, and obviously professional 

growth as we listen in and converse with each 

other. I wish to highlight a number of exciting 

new features to this years’ line-up: 

First, we have the Virtual Conference/Webinar 

series. Some of you already joined in the weekly 

broadcast in August and September. These 

Webinar sessions have provided us a launch 

pad for engaging international delegates who 

have shared their expertise utilizing the virtual 

applications. Please note that the recorded 

sessions will be streamed live during this weeks’ 

event and available after the conference via our 

YouTube channel. 

Also alongside the conference is the EXPO. 

This is free for all delegates to attend all week. 

If there’s any way we can assist you in the next 

few days, please do not hesitate to contact our 

staff. We are looking forward to getting to meet 

most of you in person and to having a great 

learning and sharing experience together – at

Conference and Expo. Please enjoy the

NACECE Resource Centre during the next 5 

days of the pre-conference and conference 

events. 

The conference is aimed at necessitating 

professional development, growth, and 

networking of educators at all levels who are 

keen on matters of eLearning. The conference 

is brought to you in partnership with Talents 

Coaching and Consulting Kenya and features 

presenters and delegates from diverse 

institutions, from Kenya and internationally. 

Among the delegates to grace the conference 

include; schools, corporate, higher education 

institutions, the government, and NGOs. 

Whether you are using or planning to engage 

in eLearning, mobile learning, and blended 

learning platforms for formal, non-formal and 

informal learning, we have prepared plenty of 

opportunities for professional development and 

networking. I believe this is the beginning of 

great collaboration opportunities for all of us. 

This year’s conference theme is; ’Changing 

Lives through eLearning/Mobile Education. I 

encourage you to reflect on this theme as you 

enjoy the programme line-up and contribute 

to the discussion on how we all could change 

lives through digital literacy. As we implement 

the digital literacy program in Kenya, this 

conference presents an exciting avenue and 

launch pad for this national initiative, allowing 

us to engage, collaborate and learn from one 

another.
