Birth and death records were not required to be kept at a county level in Ohio until 1867. Before that they are difficult
to find unless you are able to find them in a church or perhaps family Bibles. Marriage records were kept at a county
level from the time a county was formed.
Because a book has been published on Winesburg Birth Records, a lot of earlier birth records are available to the
public that ordinarily would not be.
It appears that the Luginbuhl's and variant spellings that were located in the Holmes County, Ohio area may all be
related; however I have not been able to place some of them with the client's family.
SUGGESTIONS FOR FURTHER RESEARCH
Death records, probate records and land records need to be searched in Holmes County.
If the Luginbuel family first settled in Stark County (Waynesburg), then Stark County records need to be checked for
early land records, history etc.
