Un hombre, era perseguido por varios malhechores que 

querían matarlo. El hombre ingresó a una cueva. 

Los malhechores empezaron a buscarlo por las cuevas 

anteriores de la que el se encontraba. Con tal 

desesperación elevó una plegaria a Dios, de la 

siguiente manera: “Dios todopoderoso, has que dos 

ángeles bajen y tapen la entrada, para que no entren 

a matarme”. En ese momento escuchó a los hombres 

acercándose a la cueva en la que el se encontraba, y 

vio que apareció una arañita. La arañita empezó a 

tejer una telaraña en la entrada. El hombre molesto, 

volvió a elevar otra plegaria, esta vez mas angustiado: 

“Señor te pedí ángeles, no una arañita.” Y con fe 

continuó: “Señor por favor, con tu mano poderosa 

coloca un muro fuerte en la entrada para que los 

hombres no puedan entrar a matarme”. Abrió los ojos 

esperando ver dos ángeles y un muro tapando la 

entrada, y observó a la simple arañita tejiendo una 

telaraña, los malhechores cerca en la cueva anterior de 

la que se encontraba el hombre y este quedó en silencio 

esperando su muerte. Cuando los malhechores 

estuvieron frente a la cueva que se encontraba el 

hombre, ya la arañita había tapado toda la entrada, 

entonces se escuchó esta conversación: Vamos, entremos 

a esta cueva. ¿No ves que hasta hay telarañas? Nadie 

ha entrado en ésta cueva. Sigamos buscando en las 

demás cuevas. “La fe es creer que se tiene lo que no se 

ve. Perseverar en lo imposible” Hay una frase muy 

bella que dice: ” Si le pides a Dios un árbol te lo dará, 

en forma de semilla”. No desfallezcamos, no perdamos 

la esperanza, aunque nuestro cuarto este obscuro 

o sin claridad, Dios esta ahí presente.

A man was chased by several evildoers who 

wanted to kill him. The man entered a cave. Evildoers 

started looking for him in the caves before the ones he 

was in. With such despair the man offered a prayer to 

God as follows: "Almighty God, have two angels come 

down and block the entrance to keep them out so they 

don’t come in to kill me." At that moment he heard the 

men approaching the cave in which he was in, and saw 

a little spider appeared. The spider began to weave a 

web at the entrance. The man angrily, returned to raise 

another prayer, this time more anxious, "Lord I asked 

for angels, not a spider." And with faith he continued, 

"Lord please, with your powerful hand placed a strong 

wall at the entrance so that the men can not come and 

kill me. " He opened his eyes expecting to see two 

angels and a wall covering the entrance and he saw

1-Cultiva la empatía de tu hijo por los sentimientos de 

las personas, pregúntales: "¿Qué piensas que siente esa 

persona?", Ayuda a tu hijo a prestar atención a las 

expresiones faciales, tono de voz, lenguaje corporal 

y otras señales no verbales para construir 

su sentido de empatía y compasión. 

2-Crea la reacción positiva, la paciencia, cuando 

noten que alguien está molesto, pregúntale 

"¿Qué piensas que lo puede hacer sentir mejor?", 

"¿podemos ayudarlo?" Explícale como debe actuar 

en una discusión o problema con otro niño, cuéntale 

historias sobre este tema y pregúntale ¿como 

reaccionarias tu en un problema similar?. 

3-Fomenta la autoestima de tu hijo, porque un niño 

que se respeta y quiere a sí mismo, sabrá respetar y 

querer a otros. Dile a tu hijo por qué lo amas, 

habla sobre sus grandiosas cualidades, celebra 

su esfuerzo, agradece su ayuda y dedica tiempo 

a actividades disfrutando juntos. 

4-Como corregirlo sin dañar su espíritu, intenta 

hacerlo sin criticarlo, o golpearlo esto no servirá, 

cría con paciencia y amor a tu hijo, no le enseñe a 

burlarse, golpear, maltratar o humillar a otros. 

5-Habla con tu hijo sobre la diversidad humana más 

allá de tu hogar. Habla sobre tu comunidad, ciudad, 

estado, país y de todo el mundo; llévalo a las 

bibliotecas, museos y eventos culturales; Habla sobre 

las costumbres, tradiciones, historia, de otros lugares, 

e investiga sobre la vida cotidiana de los niños 

de su edad en otras partes del mundo. 

6-Inculca en tu hijo el hábito de compartir con otros. 

Si su habitación y armario están repletos de ropa y 

juguetes, pídeles que elijan cosas para darlos a 

personas menos afortunadas. Dona el exceso que 

tengas de alimentos enlatados a comedores públicos, 

demuéstrales el poder de beneficiar a otros con sólo 

compartir lo que ya tienen. 

7-Haz a tu hijo consciente del planeta y del 

ambiente. Háblale de la importancia de no 

producir basura, reciclar y de la conservación del 

agua, es importante hacer que los niños sientan que 

tienen el poder de hacer una diferencia en su casa, 

escuela, comunidad, en el mundo entero. 

8-Enséñele amor por todos, incluso cuando no este de 

acuerdo en algo, explíquele como debe manejar sus 

sentimientos con cuidado, que no 

discrimines a otros, por su raza, pensamiento 

político, creencias espirituales, género o preferencia 

sexual. Demuestra a tu hijo que debe respetas a 

todos, así de simple formaras un buen ciudadano y 

te aseguro que el mas beneficiado será el mismo.

5-Talk to your child about the human diversity 

beyond your home. Talk about your community, city, 

state, country and worldwide; take them to libraries, 

museums and cultural events; Talk about customs, 

traditions, history, other places, and investigate 

the daily lives of children their age in other 

parts of the world. 

6-Instill in your child the habit of sharing with others. 

If their room and closet are full of clothes and toys, ask 

them to choose things to give to the less fortunate 

people. Donate excess canned food you have to public 

places, show them the power to benefit others by 

simply sharing what they have. 

7-Make your child aware of the planet and the 

environment. Talk about the importance of not 

producing garbage, recycling, and water conservation, 

it is important to make your child feel they have the 

power to make a difference in their home, school, 

community, worldwide. 

8-Teach them to have love for all, even when they 

don’t agree on something, explain how to manage 

their feelings carefully, to not discriminate against 

others, because of race, political thought, spiritual 

beliefs, gender or sexual preferences. Demonstrate to 

your child to respect everyone, simply just like that 

you will form a good citizen and I assure you 

that the most benefited will be them.

Los pingüinos tienen plumas, la diferencia es que estas plumas no están 

adaptadas al vuelo y por lo tanto no dan la apariencia de serlo y son 

más similares al pelo, estas plumas son impermeables y para conservar 

aire, dentro del agua le proporciona al pingüino (flotabilidad) y fuera 

regula la temperatura, como abrigo protector. Los pingüinos ponen 

de uno a dos huevos por temporada, el macho tiene un pliegue 

abdominal entre sus cortas patas que le sirve de bolsa para incubar el 

huevo y cuidar la cría. La incubación dura de 62 a 64 días. Si la cría 

nace antes del regreso de su madre, su padre la alimentará con una 

sustancia de la glándula del esófago. Después de 2 meses, ella 

regresa y encontrará a su pareja conoce su llamado entre cientos de 

pingüinos, ella alimentará a la cría. Es entonces el turno del macho 

para ir a buscar comida al mar. Después de unas semanas regresará 

y los dos cuidarán de la cría. Hoy sabemos que en realidad, los 

ancestros de los pingüinos vivieron en la Antártida cuando ésta no 

estaba congelada. Y aún con ello, cuando se mete un modelo de 

pingüino a un túnel de viento, resulta que son más aerodinámicos 

que muchas especies voladoras. El problema del pingüino es que él 

no usa esta ventaja para surcar el cielo, sino el océano, los pingüinos 

son los únicos que viven todo el tiempo en el mar. Además son muy 

veloces. Pareciera que visten un esmoquin todo el tiempo pero en el 

agua esta coloración tiene como propósito hacer "invisible" al 

pingüino frente a sus depredadores.

Alfonso Reyes Ochoa 

(Monterrey, Nuevo León, 17 de 

mayo de 1889- Ciudad de México 

el 27 de diciembre de 1959) 

fue poeta, ensayista, narrador, 

diplomático y pensador mexicano. 

Se le conoce también como «el 

regiomontano universal». 1 Alfonso 

Reyes fue el noveno de los doce 

hijos del General Bernardo Reyes 

Ogazón y de Aurelia de Ochoa- 

Garibay y Sapién, de importante 

familia jalisciense. Su padre ocupó 

importantes cargos durante los 

gobiernos de Porfirio Díaz (fue 

gobernador del estado de Nuevo 

León y Secretario de Guerra y 

Marina).Alfonso Reyes el 16 de julio 

de 1913 se graduó de abogado. 

En 1909, fundó, con otros escritores, 

el Ateneo de la Juventud, 

donde Pedro Henríquez 

Ureña, Antonio Caso y José 

Vasconcelos Calderón, entre otros 

intelectuales, se organizaron para 

leer y discutir a los clásicos griegos, 

acuñar agudas reflexiones sobre la 

literatura y la filosofía universales, y 

llevar a cabo una importante labor 

de difusión cultural. De gran 

relevancia fueron las críticas que 

hicieron al positivismo y al 

d e s a r r o l l o q u e t u v o 

en México durante el Porfiriato, 

mismas que suscitaron una 

verdadera revolución cultural en el 

país. En 1911, cuando tenía 21 años 

de edad, publicó su primer 

libro C u e s t iones e s t é t icas. 

La Revolución mexicana de 1910 

no favoreció a la familia Reyes, que 

tenía buenas relaciones con la 

dictadura porfirista. Reyes recuerda 

que escribía en su cuarto de la 

ciudad de México con una carabina 

cargada, cerca de su escritorio; 

de vez en cuando la miraba, 

preguntándose si tendría que 

usarla. En agosto de 1912, fue 

nombrado secretario de la Escuela 

Nacional de Altos Estudios, 

antecedente de la Facultad de 

Filosofía y Letras de la UNAM, 

donde impartió la cátedra de 

"Historia de la Lengua y Literatura 

Españolas". En 1913, su padre 

participó en el golpe de estado, 

conocida como la Decena Trágica. 

El general Bernardo Reyes murió el 

primer día de combate, en México. 

Alfonso Reyes escribiría luego un 

poema a la memoria de esa tarde 

“oración, 9 de febrero de 1913”. 

Este hecho y la posterior 

participación de su hermano en el 

gobierno de Victoriano Huerta lo 

hicieron marchar a Europa en junio 

de ese año e incorporarse a la 

Legación de México en Francia, 

hasta 1914.Para 1927 ya era 

embajador en Argentina, donde 

impulsó la obra de Jorge Luis 

Borges, quien le profesó agradecida 

admiración el resto de su vida. 

Tras una estancia en Brasil, escribió 

el volumen Romances del río de 

enero (1933) hoy en México en una 

casa-biblioteca, museo dedicado a 

él, que lleva el nombre de Capilla 

Alfonsina.

ninth of twelve children Ogazón

Jalisco important family. His father 

held important positions during the 

governments of Porfirio Diaz (was 

governor of Nuevo Leon and 

Secretary of War 

and Navy) Reyes

other intellectuals, 

were organized to read and discuss 

the Greek classics, to coin acute 

reflections on literature and 

universal philosophy, and carry out 

the important task of cultural 

diffusion. Of great importance were 

the criticisms made positivism and 

development held in Mexico during 

the Porfiriato, same that provoked 

a cultural revolution in the country. 

In 1911, when he was 21 years old, he 

published his first book aesthetic 

issues. The Mexican Revolution of 

1910 did not favor the Reyes family, 

who had good relations with the 

Diaz dictatorship. Reyes recalled 

writing in his room in Mexico City 

with a loaded rifle near his desk; 

occasionally he looked at her,

In August 1912, he was appointed 

secretary of the National School of 

Higher Studies, history of the 

Faculty of Arts of the UNAM, where 

he gave the chair of "History of the 

Spanish Language and Literature". 

In 1913, his father participated in the

General Bernardo Reyes died the 

first day of fighting in Mexico. 

Alfonso Reyes would later write a 

poem to the memory of that 

evening "prayer, February 9, 

1913".This and the subsequent 

involvement of his brother in the 

government of Victoriano Huerta 

did go to Europe in June this year 

and join the Legation of Mexico in 

France, until 1927 was already 1914. 

For ambassador to Argentina, 

where he promoted the work of 

Jorge Luis Borges, who professed

life. After a stay in Brazil, he wrote 

the volume of the river Romances

María Izquierdo. Fue la primera pintora 

mexicana en exponer sus obras fuera del país en el 

año 1930 nació en San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco, 30 

de octubre de 1902. Su primera exposición tuvo lugar 

en el Art Center de la ciudad de Nueva York. Murió en 

la Ciudad de México, el 2 de diciembre de 1955. Sus 

restos descansan en la Rotonda de las Personas 

Ilustres desde el 22 de noviembre de 2012. 

A los cinco años de edad perdió a 

su padre y desde pequeña, su 

educación fue delegada a sus 

abuelos, hasta que su madre 

se casó nuevamente. 

La infancia de María Izquierdo 

es probablemente la razón de 

sus fuerzas libertarias como 

artista. En sus primeras obras 

en 1927 a 1930 muestran su 

entorno más 

inmediato: 

retratos de sus 

seres queridos y 

amigos, como 

el Retrato de 

Belem (1928), 

o Niñas durmiendo 

(1930), el cual es el 

retrato de su hija 

Amparo y una 

sobrina; así como, 

naturalezas 

muertas y 

paisajes. Las 

pinturas revelan mucho del 

entorno que la envolvió en su 

tránsito desde su infancia rural 

y la vida adulta en la ciudad de 

México. En algunas de sus obras 

aparecen incluso algunas 

industrias, las cuales existían 

contundentemente en el entorno 

y que de esa manera, en 1930 

llevó a cabo una composición de 

la cementera La Tolteca, con la 

que participó en un concurso artístico convocado por 

la misma empresa y que le otorgó una mención 

honorífica especial del jurado. En 1927 ingresó a 

la Academia de San Carlos en donde estudió durante un 

año. En ella tuvo a algunos maestros como Germán 

Gedovius y a Manuel Toussaint, aunque cabe mencionar que 

la influencia más profunda la obtuvo de Rufino Tamayo. 

Maria Izquierdo. Was the first Mexican artist 

to exhibit her works abroad in 1930 she was born in 

San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco, October 30, 1902. 

Her first exhibition was held at the Art Center in New 

York. She died in Mexico City on 2 December 1955. 

She is buried in the Rotunda of Illustrious Persons 

from 22 November 2012. At the age of five she lost

María Izquierdo’s childhood is probably

forces as an artist. In her early 

works, in 1927-1930 they show her

(1928), or sleeping Girls (1930),

The paintings

In some of her works are even 

some industries, which were 

strongly in the environment and 

thus, in 1930 undertook a

La Tolteca, with which she 

participated in an art competition

and who was awarded a special 

honorable mention from the jury. In 1927 she entered

Jorge Luis Palacios Rivera, hoy 

maestro de español, con una doble 

maestría en consejería e ingles, 

además también es maestro de Baile 

Folklórico, nos ha regalado 35 años 

de servicio voluntario a nuestra 

comunidad y ganador de varios 

campeonatos siendo el entrenador, 

pero entérate como logra convertirse 

en el reconocido y respetado 

“Maestro Palacios”, realmente su 

historia es muy admirable y de 

motivación. 

Jorge Luis Palacios Rivera, Nació el 7 

de diciembre de 1952 en Las Palmas 

Durango Municipio de Santiago 

Papasquiaro Durango, México. El fue 

criado por sus abuelos maternos en la 

sierra de Santiago Papasquiaro hasta 

los 6 años donde paso los mejores 

años de su vida montando a caballo, 

ordeñando vacas y jineteando 

becerros en la sierra, el feliz nos 

comparte diciendo: Fui único hijo y 

me crié al lado de mis abuelos, tíos, y 

primos. Asistí a la escuela primaria y 

secundaria en Nuevo Ideal, Durango. 

Me gradué el año 1968 de la 

secundaria. Fui miembro de la escolta 

y del equipo de basquetbol. Después 

de graduarme salí en busca del sueño 

Americano como todos los que 

estamos por aquí. 

Jorge Luis Palacios Rivera, nos relata 

como tuvo necesidades económicas 

en su niñez, entre sus recuerdos nos 

dijo: En julio de 1970 llegué a Tijuana 

donde pude ver el mundial de México 

por tele ya que en Durango nunca 

pude tener ese lujo de una televisión 

por falta de luz eléctrica y dinero por 

supuesto. En 1970 llegué a San José 

California y mi sueño era trabajar y 

comprar una tele, botas y una 

chamarra de piel. Llegué un viernes 

y el lunes empecé a trabajar en Del 

Monte Food Corporation. 

Primero de limpieza de 

pisos en la canería, 

luego de poner botes de 

fruta en las cajas (caser) después de 

operador de máquinas y por ultimo 

de chofer de montacargas (forklift 

operator). Admirable a su edad 

trabajando y estudiando, el nos 

cuenta como lo logra: Fui a la escuela 

Peter Brunett Junior High School a los 

17 años por 6 meses. A los 18 me 

transferí a San José City College para 

aprender Inglés ahí el consejero me 

ayudo a entrar en la carrera de 

maestro de Español la cuál terminé 

en la Universidad de San José State 

University en 1977. Siete años 

después de haber llegado a los 

Estados Unidos. En 1978 empecé 

mis estudios para la credencial de la 

docencia de Español y en 1979 mi 

sueño se hizo Americano se cumplió 

Maestro de la escuela Alisal High 

School, Aquí sentí lo que era ser parte 

de un país Americano que te da lo 

que tu propio país te negó. Sí porque 

en Tijuana traté de entrar a la 

preparatoria mientras esperaba mis 

papeles, y no señor ahí me pidieron 

abogado para que me ayudara a 

entrar a estudiar y no tenia dinero 

para el abogado y mi propio país me 

negó la oportunidad de 

superarme en Tijuana. 

Ahora he podido 

obtener una licencia 

de maestro de 

Español, una maestría 

de consejero y otra 

maestría de maestro 

de Inglés como 

Segundo idioma. 

La vida me dio el 

orgullo y de haber sido 

el primer entrenador 

con los siguientes 

campeonatos de 

soccer. Alisal High 

Varsity Boys 1984, Overfelt High 

School Junion Varsity Boys 1994, 

Everett Alvarez High School Junior 

Varsity Girls 2004, Everet Alvarez High 

School Varsity Girls 2013, Cada 10 

años un campeonato y el primero en 

cada escuela que estuve. Baile 35 

años sirviendo a las escuelas de la 

comunidad de Salinas y San José con 

eventos culturales. Mi lema es: 

“Conocer tu cultura es conocerte 

a t i m i s m o ” . 

Cuando le preguntamos a Jorge Luis 

Palacios Rivera, cuales han sido los 

obstáculos en su vida agregó muy 

seguro: Los obstáculos en mi vida han

Justamente este 2015-2016 cerca de 

su retiro nos explica: Este año escolar 

es mi ultimo año en la escuela y a los 

63 años creo que tengo el orgullo de 

haber dejado un legado positivo a mis 

estudiantes y mi comunidad. 

Nos encontramos con Jorge Luis 

Palacios Rivera, tranquilamente en su 

bello rancho, el nos muestra como 

con su trabajo, fortaleza, seguridad y 

temple, logra algo mas que una tele, 

botas y una chamarra de piel que era 

su sueño cuando llego a California y 

alegre el lo confirma: La vida me dio 

una hija que es también maestra de 

High School, un hijo que todavía esta 

en la escuela, 3 nietos, una yegua y 

un potrillo y por supuesto una esposa 

q u e m e a p o y a e n t o d o . 

Con agradecimiento nos cuenta 

que su gran inspiración fueron sus 

a b u e l o s y s u m a m á .

Jorge Luis Palacios Rivera, was born 

on December 7, 1952 in Las Palmas 

Durango Municipio de Santiago 

Papasquiaro Durango, Mexico. 

He was raised by his maternal 

grandparents in the mountains of 

Santiago Papasquiaro up to the age 

of six where he spent the best years 

of his life riding horses, milking cows 

and herding calves in the mountains, 

happily he shares with us: I was an 

only child and grew up with my 

grandparents, uncles, and cousins. 

I attended primary to elementary 

school in Nuevo Ideal, Durango. 

I graduated in 1968 from high school. 

I was a member of the school color 

guard and basketball team. After 

graduating I went in search of the 

American dream like all of us here. 

Jorge Luis Palacios Rivera, tells us 

about his economic needs throughout 

his childhood, from his memories he 

tells us: In July 1970 I came to 

Tijuana where for the first time, 

I watched Mexico play in the world 

cup on TV. In Durango I never had 

that luxury. We lacked a TV, electricity 

and money of course. In 1970 

I arrived in San Jose California and my 

dream was to work and buy a TV, 

boots and a leather jacket. I arrived 

on a Friday and on Monday I started 

working at Del Monte Food 

Corporation. First as a floor cleaner, 

then putting cans of fruit in boxes 

(Caser), then as a machine operator 

and lastly as a forklift driver (Forklift 

operator). Admirably working and 

studying at his age, he tells us how he 

did it: I went to Peter Brunette Junior 

High School at 17 for 6 months. 

At 18 I transefered to San Jose City 

College to learn English there the 

counselor helped me start as a 

Spanish major which ended at San 

Jose State University in 1977. Seven 

years after he arrived in the United 

States. In 1978 I began my studies 

for credentials in teaching Spanish 

and in 1979 my American dream was 

fulfilled when I became a teacher at 

Alisal High School. Here I felt what it 

was to be part of an American country 

that gives you what your own country 

denies you. Yes because in Tijuana 

I tried to enter the 

school while waiting 

for my papers, and 

no sir there I was 

asked for a lawyer to 

help me go to school 

and had no money for a lawyer and 

my own country denied me the 

Perseverance, patience, 

dedication and of course 

the most essential is the 

courage to get where you 

and only where you want.

When we asked Jorge Luis Palacios 

Rivera, what have been the obstacles 

in your life, he added with confidence: 

The obstacles in my life have been 

able to overcome fear of the unknown 

and proceeding without fear to 

progress without knowing who holds 

my destiny and this is also my 

greatest weapon because I always 

venture into the unknown no matter 

how difficult the path to reach the 

goal. Thanks to God and my patience 

I got where I am now. Precisely this 

2015-2016 near retirement he 

explains: This school year is my last 

year in school and at 63 years 

I believe have given me the pride of 

having left a positive legacy to my 

students and my community. 

We met Jorge Luis Palacios Rivera, 

serenely in his beautiful ranch, he 

shows us how his work, strength, 

confidence, and resilience, got him 

something more than a TV, boots and 

a leather jacket that was his dream 

when he got to California and gladly 

he confirms: Life gave me a daughter 

who is also a High School teacher, 

a son who is still in school, 3 

grandchildren, a mare and a foal and 

of course a wife who supports me in 

everything. With gratefulness he tells 

us that his great inspiration were his 

grandparents and his mother. Ending 

we asked Jorge Luis Palacios Rivera 

to give us some advice to society he 

stated: My advice to all who want to 

achieve that dream like me is very 

simple. Perseverance, patience, 

dedication and of course the most 

essential is the courage to get where 

you and only where you want. 

Finally it is an honor to congratulate 

Jorge Luis Palacios Rivera, for his 

perseverance, for everything that he 

gave to the community, thanks to his 

passion for teaching, remembering 

that he also keeps our culture alive 

with Folkloric Dancing and most 

surprising how he overcomes every 

obstacle, clearly proving to be a 

valuable example for everyone,

La Misión de los Seglares 

-El otro día estábamos en familia 

platicando de algo que 

seguramente alguna vez tú te 

habrás preguntado: ¿Qué es lo 

que Dios espera de nosotros, qué 

es lo que quiere que hagamos en 

la vida? Todos los hombres 

tenemos una misión en la vida, es 

decir, algo especial que hacer, algo 

para lo que Dios nos ha creado. 

¿QUIÉNES SOMOS 

LOS SEGLARES? 

-Todos los hombres y mujeres que 

somos parte de la Iglesia Católica 

y que no somos sacerdotes o 

religiosas, nos llamamos 

SEGLARES¨. 

-Los seglares somos entonces 

TODOS: hombres y mujeres, 

ancianos, jóvenes y niños, gente 

de diferentes oficios: campesinos, 

obreros, empresarios, maestros; 

ricos y pobres, sanos y enfermos. 

-En este folleto queremos platicar 

contigo: ¿Qué es lo que Dios 

quiere que hagamos los seglares? 

¿Qué es lo que Dios quiere que 

hagas tú? 

¿QUÉ NOS DIJO JESÚS A LOS 

SEGLARES? 

-Un día subió Jesús, a un monte 

seguido de mucha gente. Una vez 

arriba, todos lo rodearon para 

escucharle. Estaba allí gente de 

toda clase: niños, jóvenes, 

ancianos, pescadores, artesanos, 

ganaderos; también había mujeres 

de diferentes edades y condición. 

-Entonces Jesús les dijo:- Esto es 

lo que Jesús nos pide a todos los 

seglares: que tratemos de ser lo 

más perfectos posibles, que 

seamos lo más buenos que 

podamos, que seamos. 

-En fin, sería muy difícil explicar 

perfectamente cómo ser santo, 

sin embargo, Jesús nos lo explicó 

muy sencillamente usando 

solamente dos frases: 

AMARÁS A DIOS SOBRE TODAS LAS 

COSAS Y A TU PRÓJIMO COMO A TI 

MISMO¨.EL TRABAJO ES UN MEDIO 

PARA SANTIFICARSE 

-Los seglares católicos deben tratar 

de ser santos siguiendo el ejemplo 

de Jesús: 

-Jesús, desde muy pequeño, 

comenzó a ayudar a su padre 

José en la carpintería. 

-Jesús quiso dar a los cristianos 

normales, que viven en el mundo 

dedicados a sus oficios y trabajos 

diferentes, una de las lecciones 

más importantes de su vida: 

QUE EL TRABAJO TIENE UN GRAN 

VALOR PARA HACERNOS SANTOS 

Y PARA SANTIFICAR A LOS DEMÁS. 

-¡Dios quiere que tú seas santo 

en tu trabajo! Pero, ¿Cómo? 

Haciéndolo lo mejor posible, 

haciéndolo de buena gana, 

haciéndolo sobretodo por amor a 

Dios y ayudando a tus hermanos. 

-De hoy en adelante, antes de 

empezar tu chamba del día, piensa: 

Dios mío, haré este trabajo porque 

te amo¨. Sí, Jesús quiere que 

compartas todas esas cosas que 

has aprendido sobre tu religión y 

todas esas cosas que puedes leer 

en el evangelio, con otras 

personas; que las enseñes a tu 

familia, a tus amigos, a tus 

compañeros de trabajo. 

-Que no te dé pena o miedo hablar 

de Jesús a los demás; lo más 

hermoso que puedes hacer en la 

vida es ayudar a otras personas a 

acercarse a Dios nuestro Señor, 

ayudarles a conocer a Jesús y el 

camino que Él nos ha dejado para 

llegar al cielo. 

PROPÓSITO DEL MES: 

-Este mes has un BALANCE 

todas las noches: 

+¿Este día he tratado de ser 

santo? ¿Este día he hecho todo 

por amor a Dios? 

+¿Se lo he ofrecido todo a Él: 

mi trabajo, mi descanso, lo que me 

gusta hacer y lo que no me gusta 

tanto? 

+¿Qué es lo que no me deja ser 

más perfecto? ¿Cómo puedo 

hacer para cambiarlo? 

+¿He amado hoy a mis 

hermanos? ¿Los he tratado bien, 

los he ayudado? 

+¿Les he hablado a mis hijos, a mi 

esposo/a, a mis amigos, a mis 

compañeros de trabajo, de Dios, de 

Jesús, de lo que está bien y lo que 

está mal? Que no te de vergüenza.

about something as a family 

surely you've asked yourself: 

What God expects of us, what he 

want us to do in life? All men have 

a mission in life, that is, to do 

something special, something for 

which God created us. 

WHO ARE THE SECULARS? 

All men and women who are part 

of the Catholic Church and that are 

not priests or religious, we’re 

called 

SECULARS. 

-The Seculars then are all men 

and women, the elderly, youth 

and children, people of different 

occupations: farmers, workers, 

business people, teachers; rich 

and poor, healthy and sick. 

'In this brochure we want to talk 

to you: What is it that God wants 

us to do the seculars? 

What is it that God wants 

you to do you? 

WHAT DOES JESUS 

SAY TO SECULARS? 

One day Jesus went up a 

mountain followed by many 

people. Once up, they all 

surrounded him to hear him. 

There was all sorts of people: 

children, youth, seniors, 

fishermen, craftsmen, farmers; 

there were women of different 

ages and condition. Then Jesus 

said to them: 

-This is what Jesus asks us all 

secular people: that we try to be 

as perfect possible, that we are as 

good as we can be, to be holy "In 

short, it would be very difficult to 

explain exactly how to be holy, 

but Jesus explained it very simply 

using only two sentences: 

Love God above all things 

and your neighbor as yourself. 

Work is a mean to sanctify 

-The Catholic seculars must strive 

to be saints following the example 

of Jesus: 

Jesus, very young, began 

helping his father Joseph in 

carpentry. 

Jesus wanted to give ordinary 

Christians living in the world 

dedicated to their trades and 

different jobs, one of the most 

important lessons of his life: 

That work is very valuable to make 

us holy and to sanctify others. 

God wants you to be holy in your 

work. 

But How? Doing the best, doing 

it willingly, making it especially 

for love of God and helping your 

brothers. 

-From now on, before you start 

your day, think: My God, I do this 

job because I love you. Yes, 

Jesus wants you to share all 

those things you have learned 

about your religion and all those 

things that you can read in the 

Gospel, with others; that teach 

your family, your friends, 

your co-workers. 

That does not give you grief or 

fear to speak of Jesus to others; 

the most beautiful thing you can 

do in life is to help people come 

closer to God our Lord, help them 

know Jesus and the way He has 

left us for heaven. 

PURPOSE OF THE MONTH: 

-this Month you have a balance 

every night: 

+ This day have I tried to be 

holy? This day have I done 

everything for the love of God? 

+ Can I have offered everything 

to Him: my job, my rest, what I 

like and what I do not like so 

much? 

+ What is it that will not let me 

be more perfect? What can I do 

to change it? 

+ Have I loved my brothers 

today? Have I been kind, helped? 

+ Have I talked to my children, 

my husband / wife, my friends, 

my colleagues, of God, of Jesus, 

of what is right and what is 

wrong? Do not be ashamed.
