2 Installing <strong>FreeRADIUS</strong><br />
Supported Platforms<br />
This chapter explains how to install <strong>FreeRADIUS</strong>.<br />
The <strong>eDirectory</strong> integration <strong>with</strong> <strong>FreeRADIUS</strong> is supported on the following Linux platforms:<br />
• Red Hat* 8.0<br />
• Red Hat* 9.0<br />
• SLES 8<br />
• SLES 9<br />
Prerequisites for Installing <strong>FreeRADIUS</strong><br />
Linux: Red Hat* 8.0, Red Hat* 9.0, SLES 8 or SLES 9 installed.<br />
• OpenLDAP libraries: Refer to the OpenLDAP site (http://www.openldap.org/) for more<br />
information.<br />
• OpenSSL libraries: Refer to the OpenSSL site (http://www.openssl.org/) for more<br />
information.<br />
On SLES: You need to install the following pakages before you install the RPMs. For more<br />
information on installing RPMs, refer to “Installing <strong>FreeRADIUS</strong> on SLES” on page 8.<br />

• heimdal-lib<br />
