Trend Viewer<br />

The Trend Viewer application is used to review current process data in real time<br />

(online) and past process data (offline) over a period of time. Trend Viewer is an<br />

easy-to-handle tool used to optimize plant operation and reduce costs.<br />

Trend Viewer tasks:<br />

• Process values and measured values<br />

logged over a period of time.<br />

• Minimum and maximum values retained in<br />

graphs irrespective of time range.<br />

• Monitoring of current plant conditions.<br />

• Plant optimization and fine-tuning.<br />

• Response times appropriate for the support of<br />

large trend databases.<br />

Up to ten process values can be displayed in 2D and 3D graphs in a single trend<br />

view. Both online and offline data can be displayed simultaneously in separate<br />

windows, enabling the user to compare past and current situations.<br />

Trend logging<br />

Essentially, trend data can be displayed in three different modes:<br />

• Online trend logging: Displays real-time process data which is updated whenever<br />

a change of value (COV) occurs, or as the result of a time-based scan.<br />

• Offline trend logging: Displays past process data which has been uploaded to a<br />

database at the management level.<br />

• Archive data: Displays older data which has been moved from the trend database<br />

into archive files.<br />

The trend views can be saved and retrieved at a later date. Online trend data is<br />

continuously logged and stored in the trend database.<br />
