English summary: The Harlequin Duck is relatively common in lceland, breeding along fastflowing<br />
rivers in all parts of the country. It is commonest on outlet rivers from lakes, e.g. the<br />
river Laxá at Lake Mývatn, where up to 200 pairs have bred in recent years. Relatively little<br />
is known about population trends of the Harlequin in lceland. The<br />
population is roughly estimated at 3,000-4,000<br />
