English summary: The Leach's Petrel breeds almost exclusively on several of the islands of<br />
Vestmannaeyjar, there is also a small colony at Ingólfshöfði in the south. The population has<br />
been estimated at roughly 80,000-150,000 pairs, with most breeding on Elliðaey in<br />
Vestmannaeyjar. The Leach's Petrel has been fully proteced in lceland since 1954.<br />
