4. Remove fingers (or whatever you used to push the ejector forward) from<br />
ejection port. From the right side of the pistol, press inward on the takedown<br />
pin (see Figure 18a) and remove it from the pistol (see Figure 18b).<br />

5. Carefully allow the slide to move<br />
forward until it is no longer<br />
under spring tension. Now push<br />
the slide forward and remove the entire slide<br />
assembly from the frame. (See Figure 19.)<br />
6. With the slide held<br />
upside down, slightly<br />
depress the recoil<br />
spring to disengage<br />
it from its seat<br />
against the barrel<br />
lug. (See Figure 20.)<br />
Lift the recoil spring<br />
forward and upward<br />
to remove it from<br />
the slide.<br />
