Each concept is covered in an average of three or four pages, then is followed by a series of mostly multiple-choice review questions similar to what is likely to be on you final exam. If you can master these questions, you should do well on the final exam in class. The Hazmat Chemistry Mini Review, on the other hand, provides a quick refresher that’s great whether you’re preparing for a test or reviewing the subject years later. Compared with The Hazmat Chemistry Pocket Pal, this book is a little lighter on content. It stuffs a lot of content into a small format (6" tall x 3.25" wide), but still contains plenty of charts and graphics to enhance your understanding of chemistry and to provide a pleasing, easy-to-read format. The Hazmat Chemistry Pocket Pal incorporates the content from the Hazmat Chemistry Quick Reference Card and Comparing Three Primary Threats at a Hazmat Incident (both shown on page 5), making this the best bargain for cost-conscious emergency responders. It also contains a Spill Estimation Chart developed by Kevin Smith, Deputy Fire Marshal–Hazardous Materials, Chino Valley Independent Fire District in California. Like The Hazmat Chemistry Mini Review, this book emphasizes chemistry and does not cover the relation between hazmat chemistry and the DOT hazard classes.
