Zakup, sprzeda¿, przesy³ i dystrybucja energii elektrycznej / Purchase, sale, transmission and distribution of electric power
In 2004, the turnover of ZEŁ-T S.A. exceeded 1 billion PLN. The
Company achieved a gross profit of PLN 61.3 million and
a net profit of PLN 40.1 million. A vast majority of this profit came
from the Company's basic activity - the sale, transmission
and distribution of electric power.
As a result of long-term contracts, ZEŁ-T S.A. was obliged to
purchase 1691 GWh of power from Polskie Sieci Energetyczne S.A.
(Polish Power Networks Company) (which covered 35% of the overall
demand); it was also mandatory for the Company to purchase
energy produced from renewable resources (equal to 2.85% of the
sale to end users of power for own purposes), as well as energy
produced in connection with heat generation (12.4%). The Company
also made direct purchases of electric power from its producers
(47.2% of the overall demand). Remaining purchases were made at
the Power Exchange, at the Power Trading Platform, on the basis of
so-called SPOT transactional agreements, whereas the demand was
balanced on the Balancing Market.
The sale of electric power, its transmission and distribution, as
well as the connection of new consumers to the ZEŁ-T S.A. distribution
network was carried out in 2004 according to the V ZEŁ-T S.A.
Tariff for Electric Power developed by the Company and accepted
by the President of the Power Regulation Office. This tariff was effective
in the period 01.07.2003-31.12.2004. In 2004 ZEŁ-T S.A.
sold 4045 GWh of electric power to its customers.
Transmission and distribution of electric power to the Company's
consumers was carried out by means of a distributive system
comprising 220 kV, 110 kV, 15 kV and 0.4 kV power lines, in the total
length of 40,318 km, and by means of 11,161 transforming and
distributing stations in which 11,270 transformers with the total
power output of MVA 3339.9 were installed.
For more than a decade now systematic activities have
been carried out at ZEŁ-T S.A. in order to reduce. These activities
have brought significant financial results. Over the period
1993-2004, with similar transmission quantities, distribution
losses were reduced from 889 to 443 GWh, i.e. by over 50%.
In the period 2000-2004 distribution losses were reduced by
81.2 GWh, and in 2004 by 15.2 GWh. In 2004 the Company's
Board accepted a further programme of reducing distribution
losses at ZEŁ-T S.A., which comprises the years 2005-2007. Focus
was put mainly on the further reduction of power losses in the medium
voltage and low voltage network.
