EDR 2012/2013 authors<br />
Clemens Buchen (PhD)<br />
is a post-doctoral fellow at the University<br />
of Tartu, within the framework of<br />
the ERMOS project titled “The Institutional<br />
Bases of Innovation of Foreign<br />
Investments”. The topic of his doctoral<br />
thesis is the emerging economic systems<br />
in Central and Eastern Europe.<br />
Veronika Kalmus (PhD)<br />
is Professor of Media Studies at the<br />
Institute of Journalism and Communication<br />
of the University of Tartu.<br />
Her research interests are related to<br />
children’s and young people’s media<br />
use, online risks and opportunities,<br />
socialisation, as well as intergenerational<br />
relations and values.<br />
Mati Heidmets<br />
is Professor of Psychology at Tallinn<br />
University and Candidate of Psychology.<br />
His fields of research include<br />
environmental psychology, educational<br />
policy and quality planning in<br />
education. He was the editor-in-chief<br />
of the Estonian Human Development<br />
Report in 2006 and 2007.<br />
Kaie Kerem<br />
is Professor of Economic Theory at the<br />
Economics Department of the Tallinn<br />
University of Technology, and Director<br />
of the Institute of Economic Theory.<br />
Her main area of research is related to<br />
social models and convergence. Five<br />
doctoral candidates have defended<br />
their theses under her supervision.<br />
She is also the author of several textbooks<br />
on economic theory.<br />
Mari Jüssi<br />
has worked as Senior Expert at the<br />
Estonian Institute for Sustainable<br />
Development since 1998. Her main<br />
fields of interest include the analysis<br />
of environmental policy and assessment<br />
of the impacts of transportation,<br />
mobility and urban planning. She is<br />
involved in developing many environmental<br />
strategies and plans for<br />
Estonia. Interested in environmental<br />
awareness and living environments,<br />
she is a coordinator of a project to<br />
promote the use of bicycles in Tallinn.<br />
Aado Keskpaik (PhD)<br />
is project manager at The Estonian<br />
Institute for Futures Studies at Tallinn<br />
University. His main field of research is<br />
the regional development of Estonia. He<br />
has long-term experience as an expert<br />
in drawing up regional development<br />
strategies, national spatial planning<br />
documents and operational programmes<br />
for the EU Structural Funds.<br />
Helje Kaldaru<br />
is Candidate in Economics, Associate<br />
Professor of Microeconomics at the<br />
University of Tartu; her research<br />
work is focused on the regularity of<br />
economic development, the development<br />
of social and human capital, and<br />
connections between the institutional<br />
social organisation and economic<br />
development.<br />
Raul-Allan Kiivet<br />
is Professor of Health Care Management<br />
at the University of Tartu, and<br />
Head of the University’s Department<br />
of Public Health. During the last few<br />
decades, his research activities have<br />
been focused on the evaluation of<br />
the outcome and effectiveness of the<br />
healthcare services, clinical pharmacology<br />
and health economics.<br />
