11 .6 Practical Aspects, Peculiarities<br />

From the above description it follows that the NSE spectrometer measures the Fourier<br />

transform S(Q, t) of the spectral part of S(Q, w) directly . As a consequence the average<br />

count rate at the detector corresponds to half of all neutrons scattered from the Sample<br />

into the solid angle of the detector (Fourierintegra4 . Therefore weck spectral features<br />

are buried under the noise due to counting statistics . However the method is perfectly<br />

adapted to relaxations that are performed by most of the scattering structure since the
