Kernel length and kernel breadth did not vary to an<br />

appreciable extent due to different nitrogen<br />

management practices.<br />

The highest protein and amylose content<br />

were registered with 100% N through fertilizer, which<br />

was comparable with the other N management<br />

treatments. Protein content is dependent on N content<br />

of grain thereby increased the protein synthesis under<br />

adequate supply of nitrogen.<br />

The present study on integrated nitrogen<br />

management in aerobic rice revealed that supply of<br />

100% N through fertilizer urea, or conjunctive use of<br />

75% recommended N through fertilizer and 25% N<br />

through either Farm Yard Manure or Neem Leaf<br />

Manure is required for better yield attributes, grain<br />

and straw yields and quality characters of aerobic<br />

rice.<br />
