2007: Started 47 games… Led the team with her<br />

.371 (52-for-140) batting average… Recorded nine<br />

doubles, seven homers, five triples and 27 RBIs… Set<br />

a school record with 44 runs scored… Was named<br />

first-team All-MAAC after she hit .432 (19-for-44)<br />

with five doubles, five home runs, 19 runs scored and<br />

14 runs batted in against MAAC teams… Batted .400<br />

(4-for-10) with four RBIs and two runs scored en route<br />

to being named to the MAAC All-Tournament Team<br />

for the second-straight season… Had the team’s only<br />

hit against Cal State Fullerton in the NCAA Tournament…<br />

Led the Griffs in seven offensive categories,<br />

including batting average, runs, slugging percentage<br />

(.657), on-base percentage (.461), triples (9), home<br />

runs (7) and total bases (92)… Ranked fifth on the<br />

team in fielding chances (127) and third in fielding assists<br />

(60)… Posted a .913 fielding percentage… Earned<br />

MAAC All-Academic honors for the second-straight<br />

season… Named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic<br />

All-District I First Team.<br />

2006: Led Canisius in 10 different offensive categories<br />

en route to being named first-team All-MAAC… Hit<br />

.402 (66-for-164) with 13 doubles, four triples, four<br />

homers and 18 RBIs… Her 66 hits set a new singleseason<br />

program record for hits in a year… Ranked<br />

fourth in the MAAC in batting average and fifth in<br />

the league in on-base percentage (.459)… Hit .458<br />

(22-for-48) with 13 runs scored, six doubles and eight<br />

RBIs in 16 MAAC games… Hit safely in 22-straight<br />

games… Led the team with 99 total bases, while also<br />

leading the squad in slugging percentage (.605) and<br />

stolen bases (12)… Had 18 multi-hit games… Was<br />

credited with 83 assists and 102 putouts in the field<br />

to go with her .964 fielding percentage… Was one of<br />

three MAAC players to be named to the 2006 National<br />

Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Mid-Atlantic<br />

All-Region First Team... Was also recognized for her<br />

work in the classroom, earning MAAC All-Academic<br />

and CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine All-Academic All-<br />

District 1 Second Team honors… Was Canisius’ lone<br />

representative on the MAAC All-Tournament Team.<br />

2005: One of six Griffs to play in all 41 games, making<br />

41 starts at second base… Registered her first collegiate<br />

hit in her first collegiate game against UNC Wilmington…<br />

Hit safely in 11-straight games… Hit her first<br />

collegiate triple against Niagara… Went 1-for-3 in her<br />

first NCAA Tournament game against Michigan…<br />

Had nine multi-hit games, which tied her for second<br />

on the team… Walked 15 times… Her .980 fielding<br />

percentage was tops among Canisius’ regular infielders.<br />

Before Canisius: Was named the 2004 New York<br />

State Player of the Year and the 2004 Western New<br />

York Player of the Year after her senior season at North<br />

Tonawanda… Won a total of 13 varsity letters at<br />

North Tonawanda in softball, basketball and volleyball…<br />

Hit over .400 in six seasons as a varsity softball<br />

player… Was fourth-team All-Western New York in<br />

basketball and scored over 1,000-career points, making<br />

her the school’s first female 1,000 point scorer.<br />

Personal: The daughter of Keith and Nancy Miranto,<br />

Katie is a business major at Canisius… Has an older<br />

brother Michael and a twin brother, Scott.<br />
