Tra le massime espressioni dell’automobilismo non agonistico, la <strong>Ferrari</strong> FXX<br />

svetta per le incredibili prestazioni che può raggiungere grazie alla sua potenza,<br />

portata a860 Cv, erogati dal suo V12 di 6262 cm3.Mentre il tempo di cambiata,<br />

ora pari a 60 ms., è stato abbassato di 20 ms. rispetto al valore precedente, è<br />

stato anche adottato un nuovo sistema di controllo elettronico della trazione,<br />

sviluppato insieme gli ingegneri della Scuderia <strong>Ferrari</strong> e con le indicazioni degli<br />

stessi proprietari delle vetture. Sono previste nove impostazioni, gestite da un<br />

manettino sul tunnel, una soluzione che permette di variare il comportamento<br />

della FXX in ogni curva. Per una guida simile a quella dei piloti di Formula 1 che<br />

traggono il massimo dalla vettura, riducendo allo stesso tempo il degrado delle<br />

gomme. Da rilevare che sulla pista di Fiorano il tempo della FXX evoluzione è<br />

passato da 1’18” a meno di 1’16”.Tra le altre novità del pacchetto c’è l’aumento<br />

del 25% dell’efficacia della’aerodinamica (nuove ali posteriori, nuovo nolder<br />

e nuovo estrattore posteriore), lo sviluppo della sospensione anteriore con<br />

nuovo set up per la vettura e maggiore efficacia dell’impianto frenante Brembo<br />

con dischi in Composite CeramicMaterial (CCM). Nella versione base i canali<br />

di acquisizione dati utilizzabili erano 38; sulla FXX evoluzione ne sono stati<br />

aggiunti altri che prevedono anche l’indicazione dell’angolo di sterzo e la<br />

pressione della pompa freni. Questo fornisce ai piloti una radiografia esatta del<br />

loro stile di guida, facilitandoli nel trasmettere ai tecnici le loro impressioni. È<br />

un dialogo attento e professionale, decisamente coinvolgente.<br />

It is one of the highest expressions of non-competitive motoring: the <strong>Ferrari</strong> FXX<br />

stand out because of the incredible performance of its 860 horsepower delivered<br />

by the 6262 cc V12 engine. While the time needed to change gear has dropped<br />

by 20 milliseconds to 60, it also boasts a new electronic traction control system,<br />

developed with Scuderia <strong>Ferrari</strong> engineers, based on suggestions from the owner<br />

group. Nine settings are available, controlled by a lever on the tunnel, this solution<br />

allowing the FXX’s handling to be adjusted to suit every corner. This provides<br />

a driving experience similar to that of an F1 car where the drivers want to get<br />

the most out of the car while also reducing tyre degradation. Worth noting that<br />

the lap time of the evolution FXX around the Fiorano track has dropped from<br />

1’18” to under 1’16.” Other new elements on the package include a 25% increase<br />

in aerodynamic efficiency thanks to new rear wings, a new lip and a new rear<br />

extractor. <strong>The</strong> front suspension has been revised with a new set-up, while the brake<br />

system is more efficient with Brembo Composite Ceramic Material (CCM) discs.<br />

Fifteen technicians from Maranello oversee the programme, including engineers,<br />

electronics specialists and mechanics, with all the work carried out in a truly<br />

professional manner. A day’s programme begins with an installation lap, followed<br />

by two timed laps and then the rest is down to the choice of the driver. At the<br />

end there is always a very serious debrief, as the role of these owner-test drivers is<br />

greatly valued by the engineers. In fact, these tests represent not only a learning<br />

curve for those driving, but also a font of information for those who will go on<br />

to design future <strong>Ferrari</strong>s at the highest level. <strong>The</strong> base version had no less than<br />

38 data acquisition terminals, while the evolution FXX has still more which can<br />

additionally record such elements as the steering angle and brake pump pressure.<br />

Drivers therefore get a complete picture of their driving style which helps in passing<br />

on their impressions to the engineers. It is a closely observed and professional<br />

dialogue definitely involving both parties.<br />
