Finding the in<strong>for</strong>mation<br />

• Determine where sea <strong>cucumber</strong>s are being processed.<br />

• Maintain a record of sea <strong>cucumber</strong> fishers so you know how many<br />

participate in the fishery.<br />

• Contact agents or bulk processors and find out if freshly collected,<br />

salted or dried sea <strong>cucumber</strong>s are bought.<br />

• Use questionnaires and interviews to determine what proportion of<br />

the income from bêche-de-mer goes to the fishers and how much<br />

goes to processors and exporters.<br />
