LOWER BED APPLICATIONS<br />

Monsanto Enviro-Chem Systems, Inc. offers an extremely active ribbed ring sulfuric<br />

acid catalyst specifically designed for the lower beds of the converter. This product is<br />

designated: “<strong>SCX</strong>-<strong>2000</strong>”.<br />

This novel catalyst is formulated specifically for lower pass applications with or<br />

without Interpass Absorption. The enhanced catalyst support structure of the <strong>SCX</strong>-<br />

<strong>2000</strong> generates the greatest conversion possible from the cesium-promoted catalyst<br />

while maintaining the same low screening losses that are experienced with the<br />

traditional Cs-110 ring catalyst and XCs-120 ribbed ring catalyst.<br />

XCs-120 – <strong>CESIUM</strong> <strong>CATALYST</strong><br />

UPPER AND LOWER BED APPLICATIONS<br />

Monsanto Enviro-Chem Systems, Inc. offers a ribbed ring shaped, cesium-promoted<br />

sulfuric acid catalyst specifically designed for pressure drop reduction in all beds of the<br />

converter. This product is designated: “XCs-120”.<br />

This product is designated XCs-120 (for use in all beds where appropriate); the “X”<br />

representing the eXtended surface area of these rings. Installation of the “XCs-120”<br />

catalyst will result in a pressure drop decrease in excess of 20 % to Cs-110 rings and<br />

approximately a 10 % reduction in pressure drop relative to Cs-120 rings.<br />

<strong>SCX</strong>-<strong>2000</strong> / XCs-120 Specifications:<br />

Nominal Ring Diameter “Point to Point” = 0.48 in (11.9 mm)<br />

Average Length = 0.38 – 0.55 in. (9.5 – 14.0 mm)<br />

Avg. Density = 1.1 – 1.3 lb/liter (0.50 – 0.60 kg/liter)<br />
