Club & Unit The Chief’s Corner As I write this article we have only four parades left that includes MSA in Grand Forks on August 9th Line –up at 5:00 PM and Step-off at 6:00 PM. Oasis is at the Gary Winter end of the Parade in Downtown East Grand Forks Minnesota. Saturday August 11th Lineup at 9:00 AM and Step-off at 10:00 AM. Oasis after the Parade in Downtown Grand Forks North Dakota. For those riding the bus back to St. Paul we will leave right after the Oasis. St. Paul Park (Heritage Days) Saturday August 18th. Line-up at 10:00 AM and Step-off at 11:00 AM. (We are No. 16 in the parade) Oasis is at the American Legion Club Post 98. They are also our sponsor for this parade so it would be nice to say thank you to the Legion Members. There will also be a Pancake Breakfast at the Newport Masonic Lodge in St. Paul Park, just a few blocks from the legion post. I should mention that the breakfast is great. The final Parade of the season is River Falls, Wisconsin, Saturday September 29th. Line-up at 10:30 AM and step-off at 11:00 AM. Oasis is at the Woodwinds Restaurant starting at 8:30 AM. The start of the parade is only 1/2 block from the Woodwinds. The St. Paul Saints Baseball game is Tuesday August 21st. Tailgating starts at 4:00 PM. Game time at 7:05 PM. Bring a prospective member and they will go to the game FREE – and so will you. Let’s have a lot of Shriners and prospective members for this game. September 4th Stated Meeting at the Rochester Zagalas at Blooming Prairie Osman Event at 6:30 PM. Dinner at 5:00 PM. September 16th Shriners Sunday Fun Day golf and dinner (buttermilk chicken). Potentates Trip to Boston and Maine September 27th to October 3rd. We will have a Ceremonial at Garnet Lodge on October 20th. Let’s have a lot of candidates for this Ceremonial! Our annual Hufli Turkey Dinner is October 29th (start setting up your table). Club and Unit Meeting on November 13th. As always. any questions or suggestions please feel free to let me know. Austin Area Shrine Club & Oriental Band Members of the Oriental Band have been busy with the parade season, having participated in thirteen parades in June and July. The parade schedule for August includes Neil Hanson Lanesboro (Aug. 5); Chatfield (Aug. 11); Kenyon (Aug. 18); Goodview (Aug. 19) and pending parades in St. Charles (Aug. 26); and Mantorville (Sept. 09). We were guests of the Albert Lea Shrine Club at an Oasis following the July 3rd parade. What a great Oasis. A HUGE thank you to the Nobles from Albert Lea. And, on July Fourth following the parade in Blooming Prairie, several units were guest of Oriental Band at the Blooming Prairie Gun Club for the annual Oasis. Units included Albert Lea, Owatonna, Cannon Valley and Rochester. Our thoughts are with Noble Dave Madison who is home after having a heart procedure over the July 4th holiday. The August meeting will at the home of Noble Dan Hernandez, and details will be provided by the calling committees. Neil Hanson, Business Manager St..
