The Legion of Honor brought the jeep and
was part of the mini caravan that took the
leisurely cruise through the countryside
on the way to Elko.
The morning of Saturday, July 21
started off with a few sprinkles, then
came thunder, lightning strong winds
and a heavy downpour. Everything but
hail. Consequently, the classic cars did
not show up for our annual car show.
It was bound to happen. This was the
first time in eight years that we were
rained out. Despite the rain, we had a
good turnout of Masonic helpers,
including Zuhrah Shrine, Job’s
Daughters and Demolay representation.
Thank you to all that braved the storm.
Late morning, when we knew for
sure that the sun was not coming out in
Burnsville, we packed up and continued
the cruise to Shakopee. The sun was
shining there, but the morning rain in
Burnsville crushed all hopes of
continuing the car show in Shakopee.

None the less, we
continued our cruise to
Elko Speedway for the
races. We did manage
to pick up a couple of
car enthusiasts in
Shakopee that were
interested in taking the
cruise to Elko.
