Program Management – keeping the overview
Top priority has compliance with contractual
obligations toward our end customers ensuring
and coordinating both current production
and activities in design areas.
We generate confidence at customers and
suppliers through long-term business relations.
Apart from ensuring current series programs
and managing customer and special projects,
defined central objectives of program man-
Supply Chain Management
SCM, as we define it, is procurement + production control/material planning + logistics.
Total cost of ownership and first time right is our SCM guideline. We pursue a long-term
improvement of our performance to increase our competitiveness to the customer’s benefit.
Our experience:
• Supplier market research, evaluation
development, selection, monitoring
• Contract, risk and tool management
• Packaging and freight management
• LEAN approach
• KANBAN, free stock, line feeding
• Customs
agement include preparation of sound
partner selection criteria within responsibility
and risk areas allocated in aviation
industry.
Interdisciplinary management of partial
projects under design-to-build and buildto-print
contracts is effected in due consideration
of schedule and quality while
meeting technical requirements.
To ensure and extend the product portfolio
into the future, we prepare, across
the disciplines, proposals considering
high-value and time-relevant customer
demands; thorough responsibility for
both proposal concepts in acquisition
phase and project-based implementation
after contract awarding will always
ensure compliance with demands and
customer satisfaction.
Design
Production support of in-house built components:
• Current production of Airbus A320 family and Bombardier CRJ 700/900/1000
• Engineering support for modifications, redesign and cost-saving investigations
Development
Participation in several new aircraft projects:
• 3D design, fatigue and stress analysis of major primary structures,
using standard, customized and in-house tools
Research
Participation in national research programs about new technologies:
• Welding technology for metallic joints
• Hybrid structures
• Composites for high temperature applications
• In-house research program for bonding technologies
Tooling Design – leading to a most efficient production
Jigs and tools design defines the built philosophy
and qualifies it through all processes
as well as FAI.
The tool design is the key to a most efficient
production of complex aerospace
structures.
Next generation design study of full CFRP tail cone
With state-of-the-art CAD-systems, our
best educated designers generate:
• Assembly conception
• Tooling design
• Tooling management
• Tooling check with laser tracker systems
Assembly – processing 120,000 rivets per day
The focus of our production ranges from
individual components to complete assemblies
for the aviation industry.
State-of-the-art production facilities and
machinery are the perfect basis for our
performance.
• Structural parts for center wing box,
rear fuselage sections and tail cones for
Airbus A320 family
• Large fuselage side shells and floor
sections for Airbus A320 family
• Rear pressure bulkhead for Airbus
A320 family
• Fuselage shells for Airbus A330/A340
family
• Rear fuselage sections/tail cones and
bulkheads for the Bombardier CRJ-series
Customer Support
Aircraft Life Extension – increasing cost effectiveness
To increase the Design Service Goal (DSG)
of the Airbus A320 family, a test program
for large components including e.g. a Full
Scale Fatigue Test (FSFT) has been developed.
The three test sections of the A320
with its forward fuselage (NEF1), center
Beside the assembly of large fuselage
structures, our competence encompasses
system integration depending on customer’s
requirements.
For the Airbus A320 family, we integrate
system components and electrical installation
into the rear fuselage section.
With the increasing use of technology in modern times, there is a growing requirement
to provide tailored customer support. In response to market needs, our task is to operate
a 24/7 AOG and spare parts service.
fuselage & wing (NEF2) and rear fuselage
are integrated into the testing environment.
Based on the results, a calculation follows
to ensure the required aircraft life extension
to be achieved. Thus, the mainte-
Production share on Airbus A320 family
Production share on CRJ 700/900/1000 series
nance program as well as flight cycles and
flight hours will be readjusted.
To the aircraft operators, RUAG Aerospace
Structures offers the complete support for
FSFT and the entire calculated verification.
