2. Decide if there will be set of pairs for the group presentation or the members of<br />
the group will belong to two sets, respectively for the moves of the two<br />
characters;<br />
3. Define clearly the end of the dance for it will answer the questions presented<br />
for this activity—is it goodbye or renewed commitment?;<br />
4. Make it creative but keep the moves simple, just enough for the given time of<br />
preparation; and,<br />
5. Rehearse for Day 4 presentation.<br />
Task 5. Watch Out!<br />
Study the following sentences. Each item has two sentences, one is with the<br />
correct use of verb forms (words that follow the verb) while the other one has an<br />
incorrect use of verb forms. Choose the correct sentence. Write your answer on a onehalf-sheet<br />
of paper.<br />
_____ 1. a. Lumnay seems having a problem.<br />
b. Lumnay seems to have a problem.<br />
_____ 2. a. Awiyao must start moving on with his life.<br />
b. Awiyao must stop to move on with his life.<br />
_____ 3. a. Awiyao and Lumnay found their love unbroken even with the tribe‘s<br />
intrusion.<br />
b. Awiyao and Lumnay<br />
_____ 4. a. Lumnay explained to end her life.<br />
b. Lumnay explained ending her life.<br />
Verbs have features or complements to determine how many other words would<br />
follow. Many verbs can be followed by:<br />
1. An object;<br />
2. A verb structure; or,<br />
3. An expression that has information about the object (of the verb).<br />
CHECK THE RULES!<br />
So what are these forms or features which may follow the main verb in the<br />
sentence?<br />
1. Verbs followed by one object: the direct object (DO) or the indirect object (IO).<br />
a. Awiyao asked Lumnay.<br />
b. Awiyao asked a question.<br />
2. Verbs followed by two objects: the indirect object, usually a person, comes first<br />
before the direct object.<br />
a. Awiyao asked Lumnay a question.<br />
b. Awiyao gave her the beads.<br />
Some of the verbs which can be followed by two objects are: bring, buy, cost,<br />
get, give, leave, lend, make, offer, owe, pass, pay, play, promise, read, refuse,<br />
