On behalf of <strong>ICN</strong> in collaboration with the Taiwan Nurses Association (TWNA), we would like<br />

to invite you to attend the <strong>2011</strong> <strong>Credential</strong>ing and Regulators <strong>Forum</strong>. Participation in this<br />

forum is by invitation only hence this letter. Invited participants include the national nurses<br />

associations who founded the credentialing forum and the national regulatory organisations<br />

previously invited to the regulators forums. Invited organizations may send two participants to<br />

attend the meeting.<br />

Attendance<br />

For planning purposes it would be helpful if you could confirm your attendance and provide<br />

details of your representatives by 1 August <strong>2011</strong>. (Please complete the attendance form and<br />

return to Ana Canedo (canedo@icn.ch).<br />

Accommodation<br />

As in the past, <strong>ICN</strong> nor the host organisations will be organising or paying for travel or<br />

accommodation. The venue is Caesar Park Hotel (http://en.taipei.caesarpark.com.tw/).<br />

Attached is information on this hotel as well as others nearby for your consideration when<br />

booking accommodations.<br />

Environmental Scan<br />

This year we will continue our tradition of carrying out an environmental scan. We would ask<br />

you to indicate two or three key trends or issues that are of significance in your country under<br />

each of the topics identified below on the attached form:<br />

• Regulation<br />

• Health/Nursing<br />

• Political/Government<br />

• Society<br />

• Technology<br />

This information will enable us to identify key issues impacting on credentialing and regulation.<br />

Please return the completed form to Ana Canedo (canedo@icn.ch) by 15 August <strong>2011</strong>.<br />

Topics<br />

We would also ask you to identify three key topics you would like to see on the agenda at this<br />

forum that you feel dialogue on will assist you in your credentialing and regulatory activities.<br />

Your three priority topics should be recorded on the attached form and returned by 15 August<br />

<strong>2011</strong> to Ana Canedo (canedo@icn.ch).


Agenda<br />

Once we have received your responses, an agenda for the meeting will be formulated by a<br />

small working group. It is anticipated that the meeting will commence at 9:00 a.m on 31<br />

October and end by 3:00 p.m on 2 November.<br />

Country Reports<br />

Participants in previous credentialing forums and last year’s joint credentialing and regulators<br />

forum completed a country report prior to each forum. We wish to continue to collect and<br />

compile country reports as a way of identifying country specific issues impacting on<br />

credentialing and regulation at this time. We would request that you also write and return your<br />

country report to us by 15 August <strong>2011</strong>.<br />

In particular we would like to know:<br />

• �Two or three key successes you have had in relation to credentialing and/or<br />

regulation over the past year.<br />

• �Two or three issues that are presenting you with significant challenges in your<br />

credentialing and/or regulatory activities at this time.<br />

• �Two or three activities that you intend to address over the coming 12 to 18 months.<br />
