• Act as link between HIV&AIDS sector south and other stakeholders particularly Sudan
National Programme (SNAP) and uniformed services
• At the sector level provide support, coordination; facilitation and liaison in order to improve
provision of HIV&AIDS services and information, and overall HIV&AIDS unit mandate.
• Facilitate the work of consultants, advisors and experts involved in the implementation of the
program under her/his responsibility;
• Provide input into development of sector programme reports/ work plan both through
drafting of the relevant parts and providing expertise on that.
• Provide technical support to DDR Unit in mainstreaming of HIV&AIDS in the DDR
programme and the Prison Advisory Unit
• Provide other forms of assistance as required and instructed by his direct supervisors.
Competencies:
• Professionalism: Sound knowledge of and exposure to a range of HIV/AIDS issues,
humanitarian assistance and emergency and recovery issues. Ability to analyze issues and
to use sound judgment when dealing with complex issues; ability to work under stressful
environment and extreme pressure (e.g. counseling the affected and infected, dealing with
depressed clients and human misery).
• Planning and Organizing: Ability to plan own work and manage priorities and meet
deadlines.
• Communication: Good communication skills (written and spoken) and the ability to
draft and edit reports, Sudanese regional dialects are an added advantage.
• Teamwork: Very good interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective working
relationships.
• Technological Awareness: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Power Point, Lotus
Notes, Excel and internet
• Client orientation.
• Commitment to continuous learning.
Qualification and Skills:
• Education: University degree in Public Health, Medicine, or related social sciences field.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years professional experience in the Public Health/
HIV&AIDS field. Trained and qualified in HIV&AIDS training and/or counselling, or
possesses positive attitude to undertake training during the assignment.
• Other Skills: Prior experience with Sudan Government HIV&AIDS programmes
particularly in the uniformed services, NGOs and UN Agencies or any other international
organization.
