Pulsar’s <strong>Radio</strong> <strong>Telemetry</strong> <strong>System</strong> is available either as a factory or retro-fit option,<br />

allowing industry-standard 2.4GHz communication between Ultra 5 or Sludge<br />

Finder 2 units and remote systems. Use throughout a site, with a maximum range of<br />

3Km with clear line-of-sight and further options for longer range use.<br />

As a factory-fitted ‘node’, Pulsar’s <strong>Radio</strong> <strong>Telemetry</strong><br />

<strong>System</strong> transmits the information from up to two 4-<br />

20mA output signals and two relays to a matched<br />

receiver unit. Shorter range, on-site ‘round the<br />

corner’ signalling is robust and reliable, while the<br />

signal can operate over an impressive 3Km if a good<br />

line-of-sight signal is available. For longer range<br />

transmissions an upgraded ‘Multihop’ system is<br />

available.<br />

The factory-fitted system is supplied pre-connected<br />

to the 4-20mA output(s) and two of the relay<br />

connections.<br />

In both cases, units are paired so an unlimited<br />

number of pairs can be used in the same location,<br />

and transmission security is assured by ‘frequency<br />

hopping’ and a visual signal strength indicator.<br />

The receiver is a compact (80mm x 80mm x 60mm)<br />

enclosure which simply requires a 10-30VDC supply<br />

and has a simple terminal strip connector to replicate<br />

the signals from the Pulsar controller.<br />

A second system is available to allow retro-fitting of<br />

wireless communication to existing installations, and<br />

consists of a ‘bound’ pair of transceivers for easy<br />

installation. The transmitter in this case is in another<br />

small enclosure, not integrated into the Pulsar<br />

controller.<br />
